[Video] Hair Spray, 80s Tentacle Version

Hey everyone! Konoka here. I've got a couple of questions I want to ask to everyone.

[ Konoka's cheery visage is the center of the screen as usual, but for those with keen eyes, they might notice that Konoka's hair seems... slightly more animated. Alive, even. ]

Well first off, is anyone around enrolled in school? I'm doing some magical research, and I realize that while I have a majority of the magical strength I had at home, I still don't really understand how a lot of this technology works. These phones are about the closest thing, and even those have quite a few features that I don't have around my time. I figure enrolling in the Academy might help me understand stuff better. What's their curriculum like?

And I'm still an understudy, but for those of you who do magic, what's it like to use? Does it work like it does at home? [ Konoka considers her words carefully, because she knows that Eva would sass her for talking too much about the intricacies of their own magic. ] Back where I'm from, anyone can use magic, but you had certain affinities that made certain elements easier for you to use. Water, Wind, Earth, Fire, Light... and Darkness, said to be origin magic.

I ask since I'm curious as to how magic's been affected by Chroma.

[ Eventually, with almost no movement from her hand, Konoka's hair almost slithers over her shoulders, and she begins to idly play with it. The source of this is one Dusklight Bracelet gleaming on one wrist. ]

Oh, on a more interesting note, my hair's turned into tentacles. It's surprisingly easier to take care of since it's tougher and doesn't tangle as much! Do you guys have any hair styles I should try?

On a more personal note, I'm thinking about getting the materials to make a pactio with someone. With a pactio, I could lend you guys a bit of my magic and an artifact that will help you protect one another... and me, probably. But I need to be sure that I can do one first. Are you interested?

Okay, you got me curious, I'll bite. What's a doujins? As for the rest, if it's anything like our internet was back then... probably a bunch of neckbeards and redditors m'ladying their way into the hearts of the masses. Or maybe not. Maybe your society didn't turn into neckbeards.

You can think of doujins as self made comic books! They're pretty popular to make where I come from, though they're not for everyone.

Ohhhhh shit. Yeah okay, I know what those are. They seem... okay? Just fanfiction in pictures which isn't too bad, that shit gets some people somewhere and hey, it helped out eventually for you right?

They're like basement dwelling man babies that try to get into the lives and pants of chicks that they think owe them shit. They know everything and they're smarter than you because they said so. Normally wearing a fedora and growing a beard down their neck. Neckbeard.

[ Konoka makes a face at that. Apparently, she was still very naive about the ways of the internet. ]

Chisame mentioned having fans like that once, but I had no idea there was a name for them. I haven't seen anyone like this in Lunatia so far, but I'll make sure to steer clear.

[[He's an internet guru and also a professional artist, just ask him. Don't ask him, he's none of those things, a successful blog owner is about it.]]

Yeah. That's the appropriate response. I mean maybe there's some fashionable beard guys but.

[[He shrugs his shoulders and adjusts his glasses.]]

It seems like a stereotype in the trend easy enough to at least side eye.
Who's Chisame?

Chisame-han is a former classmate of mine back at home. She was a net idol at one time! Always got flustered whenever people pointed this out.

[ Negi had ultimately chosen her, or that's what people were saying. Konoka long ignored that race once Setsuna came back to her. ]

Ah, what's your moon blessing? [ Did she ask this earlier and forget? That tends to happen sometimes... ]

Man. Just casually knowing a literal idol. Imagine the timeline where that's a thing. Seems like a down to earth person though, like not a stuck up person if they get all flustered about it. Some people aren't. There's a few industries I could point to but I won't.

[[Dave doesn't mind if she asks twenty times.]]

Cordis, I'm not lookin' forward to the possibilities either. I don't want to be part animal and I've never been into furries so I can't imagine I'm going to be thrilled when it happens.

Somehow, that was both wildly off and too accurate at the same time. But Konoka struggled to put that into words, so she decided to say this: ]

Anyway, there are a ton of things to help keep yourself under control when the moon strikes. I know a couple of Cordis folks and they usually try cooking to keep themselves even. I think.

[ Well she knows of one, and heard of others, but she's not sure how accurate that is. ]

I'm an Iris. I get deer accessories, mostly. The exception was this tentacle hair before now. [ She's not sure if she wants to mention how literally horny she gets. ]

[[They had him at the idea of food and Dave is all sorts of interested in actually eating. This place has provided for him like that.]]

Shit, I'm down for any plan that gets me fed. I can't promise the firemen are going to like my learning but whatever bro if it works to keep me from doing somethin' stupid, I'm there.

[[Because he doesn't do stupid things otherwise, or say stupid things otherwise.]]

Accessories? [[Complete with the airquotes it sounds like.]] Deer aren't so bad I guess. Tentacle deer sounds like something from twilight zone.

You know I thought the same thing, and then it happened.

[ She poked her hair, with it poking her finger for equal measure. ]

If you distrust you cooking, cook close to an extinguisher. The firemen will probably thank you.

[[Dave makes an important distinction to him.]]

Yeah but yours looks good. I'll be staying inside and not going nowhere until it goes away. I don't care what fresh hell is going on outside y'all are on your own.

I'll just buy a lot of doritos.

[ Konoka just let herself giggle. ]

Maybe I can cook for you sometimes? I've baked cookies for a couple of visitors and I cook often, can't hurt to cook a little heavier, huh?

[[Heard the possibility of food. Food is good. He even looks visually interested in this cooking. Eyebrows and straightened posture and all.]]

I'll like wash dishes or chop or something. I bet I'd be baller at chopping.

[ How is this guy so amusing? Konoka resists the urge to keep laughing, especially since something tells her that he's earnest despite his seemingly jokey nature. ]

I'd have to look at your skills. But color me interested, alright?

[[He's definitely being sincere, but he's still using humour and even if she did laugh he finds it an endearing trait. She's happy, that's good. Happy people are good.

Interested is also good. That is a good thing.]]

[[Dave is actually looking to try to find out how to say things in a nutshell, his eyebrows together and his finger idly playing with his lip until he thinks he's got it covered.]]

I can cut through three skeletons in one swing? That's with my sword but I bet like a kitchen knife I could probably do some damage to a carrot or three at once. Or like at worst some really thick cabbage.

[[Because of course the skills she's talking about, to Dave, are his ability to use large knives translating into smaller ones.]]

A magic ignorant Konoka would have kept laughing. The Konoka in the real world was intrigued instead. ]

Ohhh. So you probably are good.

We need to meet some time in the future!

[[Three skeletons, a cane and a supposedly unbreakable sword. The skeletons happened though and he's going to assume that there's a real world application to this. Chopping food.]]

I guess I would be? I've never prepped for a meal that wasn't just opening a box or a can so I'll take your expert word on it when you find out.

[[Which is to say he would love to meet up some day.]]

[ Konoka gave a good-natured laugh. ]

Well then! When you get a chance in the evenings, stop by. I'm often out during the day but I come home on evenings.

Oh, shit, that's perfect. I get up in the night. My best friend's normally nocturnal so I get up when he does.

[[He nods his head, trying to not launch into another schpeel about how great Karkat is out of being socially awkward and nervous talking to someone he doesn't particularly want to screw up talking to. She's really nice.]]

A'ight I'll let you go for now n' I'll see you another time. Or if you see me don't be afraid to gimme a good punch on the arm or whatever girls do to say hi.

[[He's about to end his message before he raises his finger.]]

I'm Dave, I mean. I keep forgetting to give my name. There aren't too many humans back home who don't know me already. That way you're not letting a stranger in your house, right?

[ Konoka gave a wave. ]

[[He's internally telling himself to shut up and nod his head. So he does just that and decides she probably knows better how to end a conversation. Normally he gets walked away from, blocked or stared blankly at. This is new and good. It's this place.

Except for the fact he tries to finger gun and forgets the video is on his wrist, clears his throat and just gives a small wave back]]
