Hello, fellow Moonblessed. If you'll oblige me with some of your time, I have a few questions about humans. That species is nonexistent where I hail from, so please forgive my curiosity, and I apologize in advance if any of these are rude. 1. Humans have no shells or carapace, and their clothing seems more decorative than protective. Am I correct in assuming that they use magic to defend themselves? 2. Do humans go through metamorphosis? I don't believe I have seen a human larva or grub here, though I admit I do not know how I would distinguish human young from an adult other than size. 3. Most humans that I have seen have hair primarily on their heads, rather than their whole body like, for example, a spider. Does that not make regulating their temperature more complicated? That will be all for now. Once again, I thank you for your assistance.

Yeah, humans don't eat each other. At least, not under any normal circumstances.

Yeah, that. Or people who are just messed up real bad in the head do that sort of thing.

With us it isn't viewed as quite so extreme. We all have our vices, and for some that vice is cannibalism.

I'd call it more of a "sin" than a simple "vice", but I guess things work differently where you come from.

If they're already dead, then they'll feed you as well as anything and they can't be done any further harm. If they aren't already dead, then there are more pressing concerns than the cannibalism.

Where I come from, you respect the dead and either bury them or turn them into ash. To eat them would be an insult to their memory, I think.

And yeah, at that point you'd just have huge issues.

I am pleased to inform you that murder is, in fact, still a bad thing.

Good to know. It's extremely bad where I come from, too.

I imagine such is the case in most societies. Though there are bound to be exceptions, I doubt those communities would last very long.

I guess it's good that this place doesn't seem to have that kind of problem. I don't know what I would do if it did on top of all the other stuff we have to deal with, like the moons.

It causes quite enough of a headache as it is. I could do without gaining tentacles every Iris, I quite appreciate having hands.

You get tentacles instead of hands?

It isn't that hard, I think. Like I don't have tentacles myself, but I think it must be like having a bunch of hands? You just have to coordinate them all.

Hands are much easier to grip things with. Manipulating objects like utensils or doorknobs, or the like, took some doing.

Do they have suckers on them? Like an octopus.

No. No stingers either, at least.

Aw. Suckers would make it easier, since they can grasp onto stuff.

Stingers? Like what, a jellyfish?

That was what I had in mind. It would make the experience even more troublesome, especially if moonlacing was required.

Right. That would make it hard - I don't think anyone would want to deal with those.

Very much so. I had to ask my roommate to take over the chores for the moon, holding a broom was almost impossible.

In that case, yeah, I would've said you just need to have someone to help you out while you learn how to use them.
