Hello, fellow Moonblessed. If you'll oblige me with some of your time, I have a few questions about humans. That species is nonexistent where I hail from, so please forgive my curiosity, and I apologize in advance if any of these are rude.

1. Humans have no shells or carapace, and their clothing seems more decorative than protective. Am I correct in assuming that they use magic to defend themselves?

2. Do humans go through metamorphosis? I don't believe I have seen a human larva or grub here, though I admit I do not know how I would distinguish human young from an adult other than size.

3. Most humans that I have seen have hair primarily on their heads, rather than their whole body like, for example, a spider. Does that not make regulating their temperature more complicated?

That will be all for now. Once again, I thank you for your assistance.

i'm so sorry.............

1) humans do have carapaces! that's actually what our clothes are. they look silky and nice, but don't you think that's more advanced than an animal's? we have good taste *and* get to dress nice!

2) of course we do, but it's a tiresome process, so not many of us opt for that. i personally have helped a human grub be planted on the soil, where it's best for our race to perform metamorphosis, and a couple of years later it turned into a full grown human. it's an incredible process, really.

3) we actually keep our temperature in check by touching and hugging others of our kind. we're a very passionate race!

do you have any more questions?

1. Not where I'm from, though a rare few of us have special abilities. The rest just have to use weapons or our bare hands to defend ourselves. Our skin is kind of not the best for defense :(

2. No metamorphosis, no cocoons or anything. Just growing up from small to big.

3. I'm no scientist, but I know we're warm-blooded so we generate heat on the inside of our bodies.

If you don't mind me asking, are you some kind of insect?

1) it is, but it isn't fun if we're always safe all the time, right? some people might even take pleasure in feeling pain.

2) actually, as long as there's soil, it's easy to make it happen. we just need sunlight and water. sometimes, if we're lucky, we might even manage to sprout others of our kind during the process, too! it's a much better way to reproduce, i don't know why most people don't indulge in that...

3) yep yep. there are some prideful types that don't like touching or hugging, but with enough urging they'll give in. i'll tell you a secret, though: these are the kind of humans that need touching the most! so if you see a human being avoidant of physical contact, make sure you touch them a lot. they'll secretly be very thankful you're doing it!

1. Yeah, we're at the top of the food chain. We even raise other animals and breed them to eat.

2. What are other people telling you?

3. Exactly! We have clothes because we can't live in like super cold places so we need to keep warm but otherwise we're pretty adaptable.

How big of a moth are we talking? The moths I know are tiny.

2) hmmm that is true... maybe we can find a special kind of soil or water to make the process faster. that's worth looking into! (nod nod)

[ why he did he write (nod nod). learn how to text. ]

3) what! it isn't. i'm a human, you don't believe me? i'm telling you, they're the ones who are most in need of moonlacing. they're just shy and prideful, really. i know cultural barriers are hard to break, but this is how it works for us.

while we're at it, what are you? some kind of animal who speaks?

1. Other animals can eat us but we're often craftier and have weapons to fight them so it's not that common.

2. What? That's wrong, we only go into the ground when we're dead. The physical contact part is only partly true though...we will huddle for warmth if it gets cold but it's not convenient or effective.

2. We don't, you're right! Is it cold for you, though? I assume you don't wear clothes...

That's...pretty big. Bigger than me, actually. The moths at home are like, barely the size of a pinky finger.

2. You have to be careful. People will lie to you all the time.

3. So you're naked?

Yeah, about that. Moths can't talk where I'm from. Humans usually can't talk to animals, period.

[ ok no fun allowed grimm... he'll remember this. ]

2. They want to make fun of you because you don't understand. Believe me, I have a friend who gets this a lot because he doesn't know a lot of stuff.

3. I see. And nobody's told you that it's made them uncomfortable?

Well, a lot of us are talkers, so we don't really miss out on that opportunity.

that's the issue!
moths don't have fingers to type. not the ones i know.
unless your type of 'moth' is vastly different from mine.
aren't you supposed to be super small too???

[sdfghgfd HE WASN'T ASKING THAT well he knd of was but THANKS]

2. Sadly, some humans are just jerks.

3. Oh, no, I didn't mean it like that, but I guess you look different enough that it isn't a problem. Sorry.

Do you actually have humans, where you're from?
graftage: (the red pony)

[god]

Okay. Well, humans are pretty weird, but I do have to tell you something.

A lot of humans? They're absolutely terrified of bugs.

Yeah.

The appearance freaks a lot of people out. Like you guys have too many legs, too many eyes...

I don't get it myself, but I'm not kidding when I say that I've seen adults jump up on chairs and scream when they see a tiny little spider.
