Hello, fellow Moonblessed. If you'll oblige me with some of your time, I have a few questions about humans. That species is nonexistent where I hail from, so please forgive my curiosity, and I apologize in advance if any of these are rude.

1. Humans have no shells or carapace, and their clothing seems more decorative than protective. Am I correct in assuming that they use magic to defend themselves?

2. Do humans go through metamorphosis? I don't believe I have seen a human larva or grub here, though I admit I do not know how I would distinguish human young from an adult other than size.

3. Most humans that I have seen have hair primarily on their heads, rather than their whole body like, for example, a spider. Does that not make regulating their temperature more complicated?

There are animals in our world as well as humans.

Are they on an equal standing with humans?

I have heard that the moths humans are familiar with are tiny and do not speak, in most cases.

They do not speak, no. Some are kept as pets or companions, though. I've seen a few even trained in battle techniques similar to human Huntsmen and Huntresses.

We do that as well, with bugs who are sentient but not sapient. Many hunters enjoy training beasts to hunt along with them.

[There are those who have trained even infected beasts, a feat worthy of recognition. If only because he enjoys anything that might annoy the Radiance.]

So the majority population of your world are bugs?

[hagrides]

The vast majority. We have the occasional arachnid as well.

What a fascinating difference. I've seen mostly other humans from other worlds here.

[hagrides]

As have I, or at least they appear closer to human than insect.

I wonder what causes this disparity in race.

I imagine most planets are more suited to human growth, but that's only a guess.

Are you familiar with the makeup of most planets in the infinite universe?

But you really don't want to know how a blind boy can tell the difference.]

Not at all. Like I said, just a guess, from what I've seen here.

Then again I've also only been here for two weeks.

Have you been settling in comfortably?

[It involves eating them.]

As much as I can be.

That is good to hear. I know not all are used to traveling as frequently and suddenly as I.

Have you been to other worlds before?

[hagrides]

Not as such. But I have been summoned to distant kingdoms on the same world.

How does it compare? Being in a new world versus traveling to other kingdoms?

[hagrides]

The vast change in biology are the most striking. When I traveled, I would frequently be stared at because of the manner in which I present myself - but not because they did not recognize whatI was.

The difference is greater than it would sound.

I imagine it would be the same if a human were to come in to a world more populated by something that wasn't.

I've heard some were startled by the Prismals with their animal features upon arriving here, but there actually is a race of people in Remnant known as Fanus who have similar traits.

Oh, most certainly. You're all soft on the outside like grubs, so I imagine you would be mistaken for a strange infant.

Infants aren't terribly verbal or dexterous like adults are. I have a feeling some humans would take offense to that.

Have you ever seen a child trying to get somewhere they shouldn't be? They're dexterous enough.

[sleepinglotus]

... you have a point.

Still, I haven't been a "grub" for 18 years.

[hagrides]

Naturally. My own child is particularly fearless, and an expert at getting themself into trouble.

[He loves them so much.]

How long can a human expect to live?

[sleepinglotus]

Varies, depending on a lot of variants. My world has a lot of dangers other worlds don't seem to as well, which factor in.

A good life could be anywhere from 70 to 100 or more, but usually not much more beyond that.
