If you're more comfortable without the contact details, go ahead with it.

like an application?
do you know how to navigate your device they give you here? there's a screen with little icons that take you to different things you can do. like PrismaGram or a calculator.
look for the "Text to Speech" one, if any
if not I can try to find one for you!

It is important to give information when it is asked.
With no voice to speak relaying such can often be difficult.
The most comfortable way would be the easiest for those who seek the information.

The answer depends on the audience, is what I'm getting at I guess.

video
Their sibling knows how to use this typing thing?
The Knight promptly turns on their camera, mimes typing for a bit, and then lifts up their hands in a gesture of frustration and confusion. They then extend one of those hands to The Hollow Knight imploringly.
Please help them learn this strange skill.]
video - action
The Hollow Knight nodded, got to its feet, and, with the camera still running, made its way into the hall outside of its apartment. The intention to go look for the Knight was obvious. ]
action
A few moments later, they found the Hollow Knight out in the halls, and rush over, waving excitedly. This is going to be the greatest day of their life.]

your best bet might be to just use your device you're using now as a kind of notepad, yo!
it would be the easiest solution.
[[ooc: so Hizashi is actually entomophobic, but I thought this was a cute post and he can't tell the difference through text so that'll be a reveal, BUT ALSO, if you don't wanna deal with that they can either just be text pals or you can tell me you'd rather not!]]
no subject
It may not be as useful as first considered.
Does using the device not require the contact details of the other, for a private conversation?
((ooc: I absolutely don't mind them interacting at all! They can be text buddies with an eventual reveal if you'd like :D provided you're okay with writing that aspect of his character, I think it could be pretty fun!))
text
I think text would be the most convenient and portable, the second being gestures and pictograms if necessary, and then paper. Nobody really uses slate and chalk anymore.
