[Text; un: turntechGodhead]
its like 4am so the best time to post anything anywhere
im going to keep this short
anyone know a software app on here that does actual music making?
i got what i got on my glasses but maybe theres something better here since we got tech from all the fuck over the place
an actual turntable would be fuckin amazing but im not holding my breath i can save up my succubus and or incubus solar panel points for it
ok thanks
(( OOC: Hello! If you hate quirk for Homestuck, you're not alone. Please let me know here, this goes for his lack of punctuation, too.))

2 electrics, 1 acoustic, 1 bass. aiming to get a second bass at some point since that one's from home. i've got the amps and the mixers and all that too.
i'm working on getting a solid collection of effects pedals next, maybe a looper
what kind of stuff do you like to make?
no subject
i heard people could get shit from home worlds
i dont get how they can get shit from our worlds but they cant get us the fuck home
anyway i met a guy who builds shit like everything
weapons tech guy mostly but i bet he could build it for you if you got some sort of how it works for him
im a damn good rap artist but ill make anything thats got a nice heavy beat to it
i like using digital to make music but theres nothing like a good ol turn table and some fine scratch
no subject
but nah i don't think i'd need it built. if i can't find it in a music shop around here, my friend can make anything, so
i'd just have to figure out what it's made of i think?
but i had a feeling that's the case when you mentioned turntables. how do you feel about rock?
or maybe punk, that's a little more beat-heavy than just plain rock
that's usually what i go for myself
no subject
maybe the musicians and vocalists around here can get some shit going and put ourselves to use other than hobby
man theres a ton of builders here ive never seen a place thats got so many people can do so much specific stuff
its like amazon but with people
i feel good about rock more lately than when i was a kid
i like the classics i like the new stuff depending on what year youre in
found out thats a thing here
i might specialize but im not too full of myself to feel out some greats
punks pretty good too some of it i didnt get too much time for more than what i got taught at home

she can make anything as long as she knows what it's made of, but she doesn't really build it, you know?
but maybe some kind of big project like that would be pretty cool? i don't know
i've played in a band before but that was just for a school festival
nothing super big like that
i've got no idea how the time thing works tho, im still feeling that out
there's tons of locals bands here that i've never heard of before, but that's probably because it's a whole other planet? they're all prismal bands
but whenever i'm talking to other moonblessed there's a 50/50 chance they even know what a guitar is, so it's usually kind of useless to think everyone knows the same stuff
what kinda stuff makes up "the classics" for you? like bands and whatever
[OOC: sorry this is so incredibly late! I missed a bunch of notifs a while back and couldn't remember what all threads I had going on, but seeing Dave in Sonia's post reminded me to come back here and check if this was one of them; lo and behold, it definitely was ๐ฆ
Feel free to disregard this if it's too old!]

people are good at random shit that you just dont think theyre good at and damn if that doesnt sound like something thats random as fuck but a god damn necessity
you and me both
[[Which is jarring for Dave who relies so specifically on understanding time. He'll parse it out.]]
some of them arent too bad the local bands i mean
classics i like dicking with to update are just things like bowie and queen and that kinda shit mainstream old classics alice cooper but with modern twists
if im composing shit though ive got a weird boner for synth lately so i guess some of the aesthetic hits it hard
no subject
it's her quirk
or her power i guess since we're the only ones who actually use that word
she can just make things out of her body and stuff?
but i try not to ask her to do it too much, getting expensive stuff for free like that kinda wigs me out
[She says like a hypocrite from her weighted, heated blanket while wearing silver jewelry all provided by her friend's Quirk -]
you've got good taste in classics tho
glad to hear our worlds aren't TOO different in that regard
but if you're getting into synth stuff, why go out and get some software you haven't used before when you can just nab an actual synth?
no subject
the word i mean
the power stuffs cool i guess i mean its at least biodegradable that way?
plus if theyre your friend they just want you to be comfortable and taken care of
[[A girl has to be warm and on fleek. It's acceptable.]]
thats pretty dope
at least you know what id be talking about
theres some people who got no god damn clue about the songs and i just feel bad for them
id tell you but its classified under the american government section four twenty nine and illegal to transcribe in texas
and you know what they say
you can take the boy out of texas but not the texas out of the boy
or something else that excuses me from admitting im better with digital synth
im better with a turntable under my fingers but not really touched on an actual synth
no subject
It's easier to explain this kinda stuff in person anyway, and she's already got the vibe they'll be meeting face to face someday.]
american, huh? alright, texas boy
any interest in *learning* actual synth?
any keyboard worth its salt can do anything a fancy synth can and more, after all
and it's not like they're in short supply around here with the whole retrowave shtick this place has going on
no subject
grade a american you bet
cultureless and raised on burgers
[[No he was not.]]
but definitely interested in actual synth learning
learning a keyboard would be pretty fuckin dope
no subject
especially since you can work it into a turntable setup real easy, right?
just get yourself a good quality midi keyboard, hook it up to whatever computer hardware you're using, and bam
any sound you want at any note you want at any time you want
i can't say i'm an *expert* with the keyboard, but i know enough to teach
plus i've got one i wouldn't mind lending you while you learn
[She did say she was mostly a guitarist, after all. Not that that's all she knows.
But that's followed by a short pause before she tacks on another thought at the end, as if she'd almost forgotten -]
you can call me jiro, by the way.
no subject
i dont know if its going to hook into my shit but ill work on finding a way theres enough people here who know how to fuse technology
even just learnings good enough if you dont want to part with your musical children
thanks no joke
oh
fuck
i always forget that part
dave strider
i mean me im not just saying a random name
no subject
unless you come from someplace that doesn't use USBs or audio jacks, i guess
i HOPE not tho. a place like that honestly sounds like a nightmare.
and i mean it's fine, i don't mind lending stuff out as long as it's not my bass
plus if i end up needing a second keyboard i can just ask my friend to make one
she's my keyboardist anyway, she'd probably be able to pop one out without too much difficulty
good to meet you, strider.
