[SO, she got that whole sex education thing done and dusted. Now she's trying to figure out the device a bit more so at first it's audio.]

Okay so it's like this, and oh!

[Visuals now! Showing anyone who is watching this a woman who is. Well. Blue, literally she's the colour blue. She mutters under her breath something that sounds like "Oh like the video call" before turning her full attention to the device.

Now to ask an important question, especially after what things she has seen so far.]

[The cat surprises her when it shows up on screen, and the name makes Lapis laugh a bit. She only knows of one Opal and her parts aren't even here.]

She's cute... And, [A small sigh.], reminds me of my friend Pumpkin.

[It's literally a living pumpkin that acts like a dog, not that she's saying that.]

[She is cute! Soundwave nods in agreement while the tiny rainbow furball vibrates on his hand.]

She can be...very excitable when seeing someone new. [In other words, she wants to make friends- she's much friendlier than Soundwave that way.] ... What's Pumpkin like?

[Must be a cat if Opal reminded her of her friend. Or maybe a dog? A capybara? Whatever it is, no way would he think it's an actual living pumpkin.]

Well... She showed up on the farm me and a friend were taking care of. In the pumpkin patch, after we had been trying very hard to group anything.

[Better be ready for the big twist, Soundy.]

Pumpkin was, well is one of the pumpkins. But she barks and is the sweetest thing.

[That sounds like the beginning of a cute story. Wait- Hold up.]

Pumpkin is a... pumpkin? That organic food... plant. [Whatever the hell it actually is.] That also barks... like a dog...

[Although his entire face covered by the mask, his visor somehow manages to convey confusion and "what?" at the twist.]

I see... A living pumpkin as a pet... That may be the strangest thing I've heard today.

[Now he's just imagining a pumpkin with sharp canine teeth rolling around for walks.]

[A rolling sharp tooth pumpkin sounds scary.]

... Glad to add to your strangeness quota then?

[He'll just... have his vents exhale a little bit. He really should be getting used to hearing strange things by now, especially on this world.]

Right... I hope she's a good pet at least? [Strange as it is... Anyhow-] If you don't mind it, I would like to know more about your people.

[He'll share some stuff about Cybertronians in return, it's only fair. Sate his curiosity while he tries to keep Opal from attacking his device.]

She's a very good pet.

[And wow, okay... Wanting to know about Gems, she's the worst Gem to be doing this.]

I don't mind, but you'll have to start with a question or else I'll just talk about nothing important.

You could talk about anything that might be worth bringing up- perhaps like your people's culture?

[Not that she needs to specifically talk about culture. Anything's fine, no information is unimportant... probably.]

Our culture... Well, Gems are made knowing who and what they're supposed to be and do so when we pop out fully formed we can get right to doing what needs to be done.

[Is that culture, not really?] Oh, there's the buildings for the higher caste gems and such, they're very pretty. Or the balls that the Diamonds rarely hold...

[Gem culture is kind of, not covered in canon aaaaaaaaah. Lapis is just babbling about what first comes to mind now.]

[Okay, all her babbling sounds interesting, but he'll have to stop her at some point because her first statement sounds... interesting.]

They're made knowing who and what they're supposed to be and do so?

[He repeats part of the statement, wanting some bit more elaboration on it.]

[She stops at his question and nods.]

Yes, a Gem is made with a purpose. Like... Lapis Lazulis, our thing is water so we help terraform planets that have water for colonization purposes. Which is just taking a planet and using it to make more Gems.

[Made with a purpose and taking control over a planet. Doesn't those sound familiar...]

I see. Their form dictate their life... ['Made' seems to imply they're like machines. Programmed to do their purpose, but--] This may be an odd question-- Was there ever a Gem unhappy with their purpose? Say for example, wanting to do something different than what they were made to do?

[It's like Lapis' universe needed something like the Cybertronians but went with "ooh shiny rocks" instead of "oooh shiny robots".]

There is actually a group of them. They defended Earth from becoming a colony for multiple reasons, but one was for Gems to be whoever they wanted to be. A lot of Gems were... broken during that war.

[She's talking as if she wasn't involved, but there is a hint in her voice that yeah she knows more than she's letting on.]

[Literally Cybertronians but rocks instead of giant robots with immeasurable destructive powers. And even more similarities, a group that fought to free the people from the system and went to war about it... Except they don't defend Earth, they do the conquering and colonizing. Funnily enough Earth was annexed by a Prime after the war. Go figure.]

That's how war is, unfortunately. [Says the robot whose kind's population was reduced to the thousands due to a stupid-long war.] ... Which side are you on?

[He heard her tone. Being a rebel himself, of course he leans hard with the side who encourages people to be whoever they wanted to be.]

After a certain point? Neither side.

[Homeworld trapped her in a mirror thinking she was a Crystal Gem, and the Crystal Gems never tried to free her. That was until Steven came along.]

But now I guess you could say I'm on the rebels' side, except that's all over and done with. So there aren't any sides right now.

[Well, he likes Lapis a little bit more now. Not that he's going to say or imply anything of the sort.]

So the war's over for your kind. [That's good. He's not going ask who won in their war, because well... ultimately it isn't really his business.] I have to say, Lapis Lazuli... what you shared sounds similar to what my world had gone through in the past.

The war ended ages ago, just some things from it came back up.

[And really, technically everyone won. Gems can be and do what they want and things are on their way to getting better, hopefully.]

Hah, I guess somethings can be consistent through universes.

I see. Our war ended recently.

[Just years ago. Though really, in hindsight, the war should've ended ages ago... But a certain someone got very powerhungry and things got stretched out for millions of years more than necessary.]

Surprisingly. Our kind's history may have more in common than I realized.

Well, congratulations then?

[Cause a war ending is a good thing, yes? At least that's Lapis' line of thought.]

And that's either very sad or could be very interesting to see just how alike they are, Soundwave.

[A good thing, yes. Only thing to worry about is adjusting to peace after 4 million years of war, which Soundwave is doing better here of all places.]

It could very well be both, Lapis Lazuli.

[It probably helps that no one else from Soundwave's world is here?]

Both would just make it more sad.
