01 🐎 video c/o Konoha

[Those who know Lunatia's local centaur lady will probably recognize Konoha's face as the video cuts in... way too close up at first. But thankfully she pulls it away from her, and, with a few taps on the lens with her finger, turns it to reveal... another centaur! A much bigger, buffer, and male centaur, but yeah, that sure is a sweaty fellow with a bunch of lumber?]

Gonta! Here you go, it's working now! All you have to do is talk to it as if you were talking to actual people.

[For a moment, Gonta squints at it with his one good eye. And all of Lunatia gets to enjoy an eyeful of nearly shirtless buff sweaty one-eyed horseman with a large plank of wood over one shoulder.]

Uh...

[He was about to talk, but it suddenly feels awkward. He isn't sure... is this people? This is so surreal... but his eye just goes for Konoha and he clears his throat, trying to compose himself.]

So... uh... the machine things. They stopped working well when those jellyfish came. I smashed some. And the Prismals took the rest away. Uh...

[By the great mountain, this is so awkward. He scratches the back of his hair. The video sways a little in Konoha's grasp, and a little "Mmm, that's good! Now you just have to ask!" can be heard before- oops, there's some fingers in the shot, don't mind that.]

Alright, alright...

[Gonta composes himself, straightening his back, looking every bit a majestic, strong jinba with a long piece of hard wood.]

Without the machine things around, we need help to complete our new home and farmstead! I'm hoping to get this all done before the month ends. I'll be hoping for your assistance.

[And he bows respectfully towards the camera. The camera bows too???? Until Konoha remembers she's holding it and so her bowing too probably isn't a good idea, straightening back up and turning it around way too close to her face again.]

We'll pay you some, of course! And I'll make meals so you don't have to worry about that, either!

[One more bow and the feed cuts out halfway through Konoha's "Good job, Go-"]

I think I can do that. After all, he'd have to earn his seed same as anyone, yeah?

If the lumber turns out to be too heavy I could use some help in the fields, so it will work either way.

He'd probably try to make off with the meat. Or something weird he shouldn't be eating at all, but yeah, like that.

[ He really needs to learn better manners, and sometimes he chooses not to learn from Shino. ]

With planting and stuff like that?

[ Points toward effort, but he seems Interested in whatever fieldwork involves. Part of it is novelty, and part of it will always be doing what I never could as a child, a world with so much potential he can explore. It never really gets old. ]

Oh, so he prefers eat? He can have some fish if that’s better...

First, with tilling! I’m still getting ready for planting.

He loves meat as much as I do, unfortunately...

[ He's grousing. It's unfortunate because it means Murasame tries to steal Shino's meat! Rude bird! ]

Oh, I've seen the villagers till their fields before! Or the rice patties... which I don't know if that looks anything similar, when I think about it.

Then I’ll put some meat on the menu! It’s so easy to buy here, and I love it, too!

[way easier to get here using chroma money than try and afford for a 1630 peasant anyway...]

It might! We want to grow rice, too... and I can pull the plow but!

It's true, so many things are easier to buy here...

[ Even from turn of the century Japan, things are still way more easily available here than they ever were before. ]
