I will not hide my identity nor pretend these words are not attached to me. There were men who thought I committed many wrongs before I came here. One man held me accountable and spared me nothing besides a lingering death, which leads me to my question: in your estimation, are there any crimes that are unforgivable?

What a common man or woman cannot - should not - do, a king or a queen can do for the good of their people, correct? Great sacrifices are expected in battle - in war - however do you think that a ruler's life should be forfeit for them? What good can they do if they are slain prematurely?

I can admit when I am wrong, but on this...

I don't understand.

The monarch of the country I'm from is a figurehead. Technically the head of state, but has no actual power.

It's an elected parliament which does the governing.

I apologize if our world sounds adorably provincial by your standards. Some of the gnomish city-states and islands over on the western seas were as you described, but the larger nations on our mainland were all led by a monarch.

Not really. Can't say that any system is immune to abuse. The government we have at the moment is terrible.

There's no such thing as a perfect system of government as long as actual people are involved.

Sad but true, I suppose. I've been drawn to the need for a suitable heir to be alleviated, but I must say that I doubt the best intentions of someone who actively covets the throne.

I can't speak for other worlds, but my own's history is rife with examples of why one shouldn't place too much stock in mortal judgment.

Well, considering anything immortal where I'm from is the servant of a terrible evil beyond human comprehension I'm not inclined to trust their judgement either.

Wise advice if I'd ever heard any.

Either way, the person to whom we're replying seems a piece of work.

I don't trust many people.

I've seen worse, honestly. At least they don't actually want to destroy the world.
