I will not hide my identity nor pretend these words are not attached to me. There were men who thought I committed many wrongs before I came here. One man held me accountable and spared me nothing besides a lingering death, which leads me to my question: in your estimation, are there any crimes that are unforgivable?

What a common man or woman cannot - should not - do, a king or a queen can do for the good of their people, correct? Great sacrifices are expected in battle - in war - however do you think that a ruler's life should be forfeit for them? What good can they do if they are slain prematurely?

I can admit when I am wrong, but on this...

I don't understand.

The board is much larger than one city. I cleared one city in order to crush my enemies. Now that they are crushed, I would have brought peace and security to the Seven Kingdoms.

And anyone who wished to execute me would have had to get through my Dothraki and Unsullied.

It seems counter-active, though, in the least. Crush those few enemies and make many hundred, maybe thousands more once other people learn of the murder of those like them, or at the very least have the wary distrust of those who wonder if they disagree even slightly if they'll end up like the others.

What's the old adage - Friends close and enemies closer?

To history a slaughter is only portrayed as good by those who carried it out, at any rate.

I would say that would be the misstep that lead to the killing.

Nothing went as I had planned. I should have stayed in the East. At least there I was doing good and the people supported me. Everyone in Westeros has treated me like an outsider - like a blemish on their reputations. I sacrificed everything for them and all I received in return was death.

If they weren't your people and treated you like an outsider you could have left them to rot all on their own.

Societies have a way of tearing themselves apart without a lot of effort if you allow them the space.

They are my people. They would have fallen under my jurisdiction as Queen.

If you were their queen then why the need to conquer them with a crushing blow?

Wouldn't it have been better to be more... surgical? Remove opponents of rank and power, like pulling the rot from a harvest?

That was for the usurper and her army. The peasants were unfortunate casualties.

How does one do that when said opponents hide themselves in an almost impenetrable fortress? Of course it wasn't impenetrable to my dragon.

I once held myself as above immigrants as well. But even those you don't consider worthwhile may surprise you, in other ways.

Patience. People are mortal, they die, eventually. Or their people, who I doubt had any choice under your 'usurper' in the first place if my estimations are correct, could have eventually killed them too. The masses will always disadvantage the few with power, eventually.

If the leader connects with the people, the disadvantages are far less. I wanted to walk among them - I wanted to know them. My brother did that and the people loved him for it. Since he could not be King, I wanted to give them much of what they would have had with him.
