❄️ video.
Hello.
[ Weiss is looking into the camera with a large glowing suit of armour behind her. She was wondering if she should perform summoning the Arma Gigas for everyone to see, but she figured that it could be a waste of time. As flashy as she can be most of the time, she decides not to be for this. ]
Since there are a lot of people here from all kinds of places, I'm sure there are some of you who are capable of summoning allies to fight by your side or fight for you. I'd like to know more about the process of summoning in other worlds. Maybe it could help me improve my summoning, too. We can meet in person if that's more convenient.
[ There are a lot of things she wants to improve on when it comes to summoning, one particular thing would be her casting time. That's not something she'll say out loud for everyone to hear, though. With her summoning request having been asked though, she dismisses the Arma Gigas and it very slowly evaporates into the air until it's completely gone. ]
I'm not sure how many Moonblessed there are here, too, but there are several people from Remnant here. We have what we call an Aura - the manifestation of one's soul. It protects us, and from experience, it looks like anyone with a soul can have their Aura unlocked, even if they aren't from Remnant. It proves to be helpful, of course, but having your Aura unlocked also drains you of all your Chroma. You could end up crystallising if you don't moonlace right away. [ She's only saying this now so awful people like Raven don't unlock Auras again and leave the person Chromaless????? PLEASE. ] Basically? Don't be an idiot, and if you want your Aura unlocked, make sure it's with somebody you trust.

[ And from the looks of it, she doesn't mind what she's seeing, either. ]
I have some questions, but I suppose they're best done in person.
no subject
How's the park sound? Or do you have a preference as to the location?
no subject
[ Now that she knows how the other person looks, she can easily locate her once she gets to the park. ]
Can I get your name?
no subject
Setsura Yamaguchi, and yours?
no subject
I'll see you soon.
[ She at least wait for Setsura to say something, like a bye of some sort, before hanging up. Then she heads to the park, Myrtenaster clipped to the ribbon on her waist. It takes her close to half an hour to get there, but hey. At least she's there.
She sends a text. ]
I'm seated on the bench by the orange tree.
[ Definitely the only tree around with a bright orange trunk. ]

[ True to her word, Setsura collects and pockets her notes and drops from her favorite perch to the ground without ceremony. The orange tree, hmm? As often as she frequents the park, she knows where that is. Doesn't skip a beat in turning on her heel and begin the trek there. She makes no effort to conceal the katana sheathed at her side, nor is there any fanfare about the circular seal borne by the sheath itself and her steps are brisk, purposeful. When she spots the young woman seated on the bench, she offers a two-fingered salute in greeting. ]
Weiss, right? I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long.

It's a pleasure to meet you.
[ After a year of learning at Beacon, she's learned not to judge people so much because of their appearances, so she doesn't really think much of what she sees. Besides, she has her sword too. She has a scar that goes down her left eye. People have stories, and she assumes Setsura has her own as to why she looks the way she does. ]

[ She inclines her head once more as she settles some feet away. She doesn't miss the sword -- is that a rapier? -- or the scar that travels down Weiss' left eye. People do indeed have their stories. It's generally up to them when they'd like to share them; though, she does wonder about her manners, what sort of training she may have had if any. She pushes the thought aside for the moment, though. ]
Shall we get right to it, then?

[ Weiss may look like somebody who enjoys fancy cotillions and useless small talk, but she's somebody who's ready for business at any given time. In fact, while she enjoys parties, she's more serious than the rest of the people from her kingdom. Not to mention, she's not really good at making small talk or friends, so business is where it's at. ]
You mentioned your ability being compromised. I'm not sure what that means.
[ She sits back down on the bench and motions for Setsura to do the same. It'd be weird if they both just stood there, after all. ]

You mentioned Aura being the manifestation of one's soul. That term also exists in my world, but I won't say it's synonymous. In my world, the common, universal term for energy derived from the soul is spiritual energy. Among the Awakened -- that is, humans who have gained that sixth sense that allows them to sense spiritual energy and see the world as it truly is -- and generally spiritual existences such as gods, spirits, and youkai, the vast majority of special abilities the Dormant or spiritually insensitive population might consider extraordinary or the stuff of tales and myth are fueled by this energy. It gets more complicated than that past a point, but that's the basic gist.
[ She gestures as she speaks, mindful of her pacing and Weiss' expression. ]
Summoning is one of those special abilities. Although my sense is intact and my physical ability seems unaffected provided I mind my chroma, I haven't been able to properly channel my spiritual energy since I arrived.
no subject
[ And also a little annoying, actually. Weiss doesn't like being limited to things. Were she in Setsura's situation, she'd probably be very mad. ]
So you need lots of Chroma in place of spiritual energy? Am I understanding it correctly?
no subject
[ She's tried and she is quite mad about that for all the time, effort, and energy she's put into developing and honing her skills over so many decades. They're hers, after all. ]
It doesn't make any sense.
no subject
[ She's a little determined to help in some way now. ]
no subject
[ There's a possibility. He had said he wasn't entirely sure what certain things did when she'd browsed his shop the first time. ]
It's worth looking. Even if he doesn't have anything, I'll adapt. No cage, no snare.
[ And with her head held high. She does pause, though. ]
I assume your abilities haven't suffered from any tampering? You didn't mention exactly how summoning works for you and I don't want to assume.
no subject
[ And she supposes she's pretty lucky with that bit... ]
Although when I first arrived, what I can summon can't grow as big as I want them to. They were the size of a small dog.
no subject
[ She folds her arms, turning it over in her head for a brief moment. ]
Nothing else odd about them or your process?
no subject
[ She hopes she didn't just jinx herself. ]
no subject
Thanks for sharing that with me.
[ She inclines her head slightly, a smile tugging at her mouth. ]
Now, I owe you an explanation, hm? I suppose it would be something of a lesson.
no subject
[ It's still added knowledge, she thinks. That's very important. ]
