Hello.

This is The Knight.

I wish to talk about families.

What is your family like? Do you have siblings? I have many siblings. More siblings than there are moonblessed. One of them is here with me. They are also a knight. They were one long before I was, and they are very good at it.

I have a child. They were not born by mating, as humans do, but by a dance with myself and my friend Grimm. It was part of an important ritual.

My Father is a King. My Mother is a Tree. Also a Queen.

That is all of my family. Please tell me about yours.

Our dear one is certainly more of a pleasure to speak of than my own sibling. [The Radiance... is bad.] One day, I hope that your sibling is able to meet them as well - our child would adore them.

I forget often that She was related to you. It makes me more grateful for my own sister. [Hornet has her bad sides but they love her anyway.]

They would have to deal with a small child perched on their shoulders often. Or perhaps their head.

I'm an only child. I always wished I had siblings.
I have my mother and my father though.
My father is a shrimp and my mother is a lobster.
She can't take on a separate form like my father and I can.
They're absolutely wonderful. Very kind and doting people.

Your sister is vastly superior.

Such a thing is not so troublesome. Unless you find it so? They are equally fond of perching on you.

I have two parents and an older brother, back home.

My brother's a bit of a player and tends to be kind of annoying.

No, I enjoy it. But they are not used to such contact.

Though perhaps that might make them enjoy it all the more.

You do not deserve to suffer unpleasant ones.

It is a shame you have no siblings though.

I do not understand. What does your brother play? Is it loud? Is that why it is annoying?

I have no objections to showering them in affectionate contact.

[He would hug them so much if he were allowed.]

I count my blessings every day to have them.
Maybe one day, but it was very difficult for them to have me.
Perhaps they will adopt instead, they have a tendency to spoil every young person they see.

My sister was adopted. Out of the family, rather than into.

But I still think of her as a sister.

Mother is still alive, though. But as a tree she cannot do much.

What are your siblings like?

I have not told you anything of my own predecessor, have I?

I don't have a preference really.
A sibling is a sibling, no?
I guess I might like them to be younger but that's not that important either.

Were they much like you?

Are most of the people where you come from younger than you, or older?

[Obviously that's relevant because it affects whether she'd be likely to get that preference.]

Not in the slightest.

That Grimm was a serious one. He spoke but little, unless it was in a fight. Those he surrounded himself with were warriors who would balk at the idea of a performance.

No two Grimms burn the same.

My brother is very quiet. Helpful.

My sister is more strict and gets angry with me... But she can also be clever.

It is strange to think of a Grimm acting like that.

I wonder what our child will grow up to be like.

My sister is strict and stern as well. But she is very wise, and noble, and strong.

She will be a good Queen.

I'm younger than most, both in my hometown and where I live and work.
Come to think of it I can count the people that are younger than me that I'm acquainted with just my two hands.
New people are born everyday though so there is still hope.

[It's just unfortunate that few make it past a certain age]
