hello everyone i have an interesting request

you see something has been brought to my attention and i just can't let it go without learning the answer

i'm sure most of us know the general blood-drinking lore, right

that virgin blood is the best blood and non-virgin blood just can't compare, because purity is important or something

but that's not why i'm here

i'm here for a vastly different comparison

vegetarians vs meat eaters

i've been drinking from nazis, ghouls, and other vampires for so long that i just don't know if i've even had a vegetarian, how sad is that

my point here is: i'm looking for blood donors, both vegetarian and meat eating, to make a comparison

the virgin thing doesn't matter, just what you eat, that's all i'll be comparing in this exercise

you have my word as a gentleman that if you decide to donate, i won't take too much

or turn you into a vampire

or kill you

even if you're into that kind of thing i might get in trouble with my mas~ter if i misbehave too badly

anyway, just some food for thought

feel free to weigh in with your opinion if you've had both sides of the coin

Can blood really taste that different? Some sort of 'you are what you eat' thing?

And are you asking just for the comparison, or have you been eating enough?

I want to offer to help, but I almost forgot that I don't have blood anymore. It would be unpleasant to bite into someone and get ink instead of blood.

Does virgin blood taste differently? Vampire lore is often contradictory depending on culture and writer.

I ate a horse heart once. I can't say I cared for the taste. Cooked meat is preferable by far.

Unfortunately, I can't really assist with your experiment seeing as I also subsist on something other that food, but it seems you won't lack for volunteers.

Hmm. Color me interested. I'm not wholly a vegetarian, but I couldn't tell you how long it's been since I've had red or white meat.

Besides, if a diet can determine what someone tastes like during sex, I'd be interested in knowing how it affects the blood.

I've ingested small amounts of blood before for various reasons related to my craft. But as I'm not a vampire, I doubt my palate would be able to detect all the subtle differences that may exist. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a distinction, but I also believe that there's other things to consider, especially in a place such as this one.

Either way, it was all the same to me.

Vampires in my world could drink from any of the mortal races. I've never heard of virgin blood having any special qualities, but once again, I wouldn't know the full story.

I knew of a vampire, for instance, who preferred the blood of elves.

Whether that was simply due to biological differences or diet is a question we never got an answer for before she was slain. I do know that many surface elves are vegetarian, and the ones who aren't tend to eat considerably less meat than other cultures, but broad generalizations cannot be the truth for an entire race.

I've got a few questions. Firstly, nazis? Equally importantly, are you going to share the results with the network or are you planning on keeping your findings to yourself?

I'm another who'd be very interested in seeing the results of this survey if you're willing to share.

Unfortunately I can't provide a vegetarian sample. I like bacon too much. Though a Jew who eats bacon might also taste unique, I wouldn't know.

You'll have to forgive my cheek, but what in the Maker's most sacred of frilly knickers is a vampire? [Because Thedas has no such lore. 99 problems and vampires ain't one of 'em.] Some breed of hunger demon, blood mage, darkspawn? No, doesn't really fit...hunger demons devour everything, blood mages don't drink blood, and darkspawn...well waste not want not I suppose, but corruption is more their MO.
