mushrooms are really good, they're just not in my top best choices
maybe just like right below it

leek would be an interesting choice
what would we be pairing it with as far as toppings go?
also what kind of cheese would go best??
romano? gruyere??

The ideal: wild mushrooms, leek or caramelized onion depending on what mushrooms are found, a little bit of any kind of bacon. Definitely Gruyère, a few smatterings of goat cheese wouldn't hurt either.

Weather is key, too. If it's too hot, I'd much rather have a simple tomato and basil with mozzarella.
