depends on the tea
black tea i personally like when it's steeped to hell but i also can't do that to earl grey that's just terrible

green tea should only steep for like a couple of minutes same with white tea

for the love of god dont use boiling water you will BURN IT

dont add milk to most fruit teas strawberry flavored teas are usually safe but not lemon or orange or whatever

important thing: when stirring sugar don't click your spoon on the sides of the cup like a jackass that's rude
point spoon down more vertically and stir that way

most black teas (including earl grey) take about five minutes to steep but it's usually not a big deal if it's a little longer
