A force?

I don't know about this Radiance, but I don't dislike that idea at all! It's a good description for what happens, given that a force's purpose is to push or pull until something gives way, and breaks.

I think even The Tower would enjoy that sort of description. It might even suit it better than it suits me.

[ No one remembered the Radiance, but She had made Herself known. Her destruction had been all but absolute, Her dream all encompassing. The Hollow Knight found it so difficult to imagine another force that did not have that same uncaring, violent love. This being was either lying, or dangerous, to claim that descriptor.

They are the Heart of the Void.
If you would wish to know more of it, and how alike to it you are, then you should speak to them further.
They will be able to hear your cries no matter how you send them, if you are akin to the Void as you wonder.

[ They heard the Hollow Knight, after all. It could feel them as a part of the Void even when it was far away, now that they were the one to unite it. It was why it even chose to bold the words, just as they had done when talking about it -- deferring to the one who knew it most intimately of all. ]

I see. So that's what they meant when they called themselves "the Heart", is it. For a being who exists to fight and destroy, they do have a romantic name, non?

And you're the Hollow Knight — so what are you in the Void? Surely not the Hollow Heart.

They do not call themself 'the Heart'.
They are the Heart of Void.
A union of Soul and Void, content in their antithetical self.
They give us focus.

This is a Vessel, formed when the egg of Root and Wyrm was bathed in the ocean of Void.
It stands out not from the mass.
No unification comes from it.
Its name of 'Hollow Knight' came from it being chosen as the empty receptacle to contain the light of the Radiance.
