Good day, everyone. I hope you are all in a better state now.

[ Much like his last post on the network, he waves at the camera when the transmission begins. He's seated on a sofa chair with a coffee table in front of him. A shogi set can be seen in the foreground. ]

I'm not sure just how big the Japanese populace is here, but I'd like to send an invitation to play shogi. I do have a certain friend whom I play with every week, but it would also be nice to get to know more people—both through conversation and through a game. I also have a chess set, for those who don't know how to play shogi, so please let me know if you're interested.

[ He keeps it a secret that he's never lost in a game of shogi... or chess... or anything else that isn't basketball, really. u_u ]

My other inquiry is a little far off from board games. I was wondering - if you were given the chance to forget something about yourself, would you take it? [ He lets out an amused chortle, a little obvious that he's hiding something. Akashi is not the best of liars. ] It's a thought I've considered more than once now... I was hoping to get an outsider's point of view.

[ dextera basically spent the first several years of his life playing chess and doing precious little else. he has not a clue how to play shogi, but chess is something he feels remarkably confident in thanks to all that time spent thinking, and he’s really hurting for people to play with.

feeling it most polite to respond to the video with a video, dextera clicks his feed on, but it’s dark and spooky in his room. vaguely haunted, even with the spirits gone. ]

I love chess. [ at least he sounds like a normal person. ] It doesn’t seem like many people here like to play…

Then I take it you've never played since you arrived here.

Just a few times. But I would say I’m a little out of practice.

[ he isn’t familiar at all with shogi, beyond vague memories of other people talking about it, but perhaps this will end up being an opportunity for a new game in his repertoire. ]

If you'd like to play, I have a set that's begging to be used more. Not to mention, it does get boring to play by myself all day.

[ He lets out a soft chuckle. Though he's a little confused... ]

Do you not work or go to school here?

No…

[ he has… friends, he can moonlace with, but as for actual societal integration, he feels so entirely on the outside of it. ]

I never went to school, and I don’t think I can help with work…

Why is that?

[ Akashi values his time well. He also... doesn't really like lazy people, so of course Dextera is setting a good impression so far... ]
