Good day, everyone. I hope you are all in a better state now.

[ Much like his last post on the network, he waves at the camera when the transmission begins. He's seated on a sofa chair with a coffee table in front of him. A shogi set can be seen in the foreground. ]

I'm not sure just how big the Japanese populace is here, but I'd like to send an invitation to play shogi. I do have a certain friend whom I play with every week, but it would also be nice to get to know more people—both through conversation and through a game. I also have a chess set, for those who don't know how to play shogi, so please let me know if you're interested.

[ He keeps it a secret that he's never lost in a game of shogi... or chess... or anything else that isn't basketball, really. u_u ]

My other inquiry is a little far off from board games. I was wondering - if you were given the chance to forget something about yourself, would you take it? [ He lets out an amused chortle, a little obvious that he's hiding something. Akashi is not the best of liars. ] It's a thought I've considered more than once now... I was hoping to get an outsider's point of view.

[ The answer here is spoken rather offhandedly with a bit of snark dripping off of it. ]

I haven't played shogi in a long time, though. Where'd you manage to find a set?

It was like that in the previous world I was in. It's interesting to find these common threads.

[ Whatever snark Inaba was implying completely goes over Akashi's head. ]

I managed to arrive here with a set. A friend had it custom-made for my birthday.

Were you in another world besides your main one before this one?

[ That's interesting. ] Ohh, that's pretty lucky.

Yes, I was. A far more magical world than this one.

[ And less sexy... ]

I'm very lucky to have good friends, even if that's not what you meant.

[dereban]

What was it like? Besides magical, that is.

[ There's a tinge of curiosity in her voice there and as they say: curiosity killed the cat. Not that she is one, of course. ]

Well, having good friends is always important.

It was less technologically advanced than this one. I suppose... in genres, it was more "steampunk" than "sci-fi"? One's emotions became tangible. If you felt happy, you could create flowers to grow on the ground. It's called Dunamis, or emotion magic. Being able to control one's emotions made your magic more powerful, as well.

And yes, I do think so, too. [ A pause. ] If you'd ever like to play shogi, I'm sure we can become friends after a few games.

Steampunk. . . yeah, I can imagine it for sure. Sounds pretty wild if people's emotions became tangible, or hell, created magic.

But yeah, just tell me when you're free — I don't know about becoming friends over shogi, but the competitive spirit is on, at the very least.

[ That actually gets Akashi to chuckle. He can be very persistent when he wants to befriend somebody. Or... if he wants anything, really. Annoying and persistent. . . that's him for sure. ]

[ Well, good luck with that!

Although when it comes to answering the question about her name, she can't help but snort just a little bit. ]

Sure. It's Inaba.

[ Purposely leaving out her last name there. ]

[ Look, she might want to be called something else. ]

Please call me Akashi. Or Seijuro. [ He looks away and puts a hand to his chin in thought. ] My full name is Akashi Seijuro, Seijuro being my given name. I don't mind what other people call me, so long as it's with some respect.

Yeah, that's fine.

[ But he's giving his full name, will she actually be polite... ]

I'll call you Akashi, then.
