Good day, everyone. I hope you are all in a better state now.

[ Much like his last post on the network, he waves at the camera when the transmission begins. He's seated on a sofa chair with a coffee table in front of him. A shogi set can be seen in the foreground. ]

I'm not sure just how big the Japanese populace is here, but I'd like to send an invitation to play shogi. I do have a certain friend whom I play with every week, but it would also be nice to get to know more people—both through conversation and through a game. I also have a chess set, for those who don't know how to play shogi, so please let me know if you're interested.

[ He keeps it a secret that he's never lost in a game of shogi... or chess... or anything else that isn't basketball, really. u_u ]

My other inquiry is a little far off from board games. I was wondering - if you were given the chance to forget something about yourself, would you take it? [ He lets out an amused chortle, a little obvious that he's hiding something. Akashi is not the best of liars. ] It's a thought I've considered more than once now... I was hoping to get an outsider's point of view.

What do you think, Midorima?

If you erase one part of it, does the affect your memory of other things that were relating to it? Do you know why you would've acted a certain way without the experiences you gained from that section of the memory you erased? Furthermore, memories are created within the brain- would removing established connections in the brain affect your mind in other ways, not just in the short term but the long-term as well. I don't think brains are something to be played with so simply.

The process itself is something I've yet to think about. . . I'm merely asking what others would do. I don't even know if there is anyone here capable of wiping a fragment of one's memory.

I don't have any memories I want to rid myself of, but I am telling you what I would do. I would consider those concerns and whether or not the risk is worth the reward.

I don't either. If I were to decide, I wouldn't do anything to my memories.

[ What he's done, who he's known... They've all made him who he is now. But... who he is now is also hurting the people he cares about in the process. That's why he has to think about it. ]

Would you ask someone to forget something just so you could be happy, Midorima?

I can't think of a scenario that would make sense to me.

[ He doesn't really know of anything that would make him consider that. ]

It seems to me like a solution that means running from facing whatever problem that memory is causing, rather than putting the work in to fix it.

Hm... I wouldn't necessarily think of it as running away from the problem.

[ He's. . . gotten over the problem in the first place. ]

Midorima, I think we may have to talk about this in-depth. It's a long story.

[ And for the first time in many times starting now, Akashi would want his opinion. ]

When is a good time? I'll lend an ear.

[ He doesn't have a full understanding of the situation, so his opinion is rather based on the sorts of things he can think of that this would be used for after all.. but he certainly understands that Akashi shouldn't share his feelings for the whole world to see. People who do that have problems with boundary issues if you ask him. ]

We'll meet for shogi, won't we?

[ They practically have the whole day to catch up and talk about everything under the sun and the moons. Plus, he'd like to play! ]

We can also play basketball, if you like.

Not during normal practice. If it's just me, they won't complain because you aren't watching main practice or taking up resources from the team.

[ He sends them to him! Along with the general list of rules that may differ from normal Japan rules. Like rules about not games during regular moon cycles so that no one is given an unfair advantage just because Sanguis is out and they have superpowers or Cordis can move faster. Triple moon is fine though, since everyone gets status perks. No non-blessing abilities allowed to be used on court, and so on. Everything else is pretty similar. He doesn't doubt that Akashi will follow them, but it's always possible to just not know them so it's better safe than sorry. ]
