I have some things to ask of you, and I hope that you will be patient with my attempts at replies. I am not terribly used to using the keyboard yet, though I would prefer to take my time typing for reasons that I will explain.

Firstly, where would one go to find fishing supplies? I tried to ask the locals, but they seem to have misinterpreted my requests to be interest in forming romantic relationships with merpeople. I am not particularly interested in that sort of thing period at this point in time, and as Sanguis has put me in an ill mood, I may have handled the conversation with the merchant to whom I was directed somewhat poorly. I apologized profusely when I calmed down, but I wish to avoid any further mishaps in that vein. Does anyone know where I would be able to purchase fishing supplies?

Also, as I was unable to pass out much candy during the actual events of Geistnacht due to everything that occurred, I am left with a large quantity of leftovers and I am unable to eat it all. Is anyone else having this problem? I was thinking of leaving it out in a common area, but I do not know if that is what's done here.

In a sense, yes. We all worked at the same institution back in our own world, though I believe there are different timelines involved, as well. It's... a bit confusing, to tell the truth.

Worlds are large. There could be plenty of people who've switched genders between worlds, they just aren't people you know.

That is true. It does seem a touch unlikely, but perhaps that is the case...

It seems more likely than the only shared people between worlds also being the ones to end up here. Not that I know the selection process for Prismatica [he's not an anon mod sorry] but it seems at least somewhat random.

...That is also true. The probability that we mostly encounter people we actually know from our worlds should also be fairly low, shouldn't it?

Right? There are a few billion people in my world right now. I'll generously estimate I could recognize maybe a hundred, and I'm certainly not close to all of them.

I couldn't even estimate the number of people in my world, but my situation is fairly similar to yours. I definitely know most of the people from my world by looking at them, but... well, perhaps I wouldn't know of others from Fodlan unless they told me.

I at least have the advantage of being somewhat well-known? Such that people hearing my name sometimes tell me that they've read my stories.

But that isn't actually a guarantee of being from the same world, so I'm not sure how useful that is, really.

Oh, so you are a renowned author where you’re from? I apologize for not being familiar, but such is the consequence of being from different worlds, I suppose. I am an author myself, though I write primarily for children and my works are not too widely distributed. Granted, I am a fairly prominent figure in the Church of Seiros, so there are many who have likely at least heard of me in that context.

Oh, children's books! I don't write those myself, but a few of my coworkers do. They're underappreciated, I feel.

I'm not sure if renowned is the right word, there are certainly much better writers than me... But many of my stories have ended up in textbooks, so my name is familiar to anyone who's gone to school in my country within the last few decades.

They certainly are. I got into the habit of it when I was looking after my sister when she was very young, so I think it is nice to allow other families to share that kind of joy.

That is still an accomplishment worth celebrating, I think. It is not as though you can only ever read the works of one author in your lifetime, after all.

Indeed it would be. It is good to see that there is so much variety in this world, as... well, I live at a monastery which has an impressive library, but this amount of information would not be accessible to just anyone.

At home I live in the National Library. I'm very fortunate to have access to so much literature, but you're right that many people are not so blessed.

It's very true. Lunatia definitely seems to have exceeded both of our homes, given that it not only has a library, but also very affordable books that can be purchased in large numbers and, well, the network, where you can find basically anything for free.

We are truly blessed. Such useful technology wouldn't have even been imaginable in my lifetime.
