I have some things to ask of you, and I hope that you will be patient with my attempts at replies. I am not terribly used to using the keyboard yet, though I would prefer to take my time typing for reasons that I will explain.

Firstly, where would one go to find fishing supplies? I tried to ask the locals, but they seem to have misinterpreted my requests to be interest in forming romantic relationships with merpeople. I am not particularly interested in that sort of thing period at this point in time, and as Sanguis has put me in an ill mood, I may have handled the conversation with the merchant to whom I was directed somewhat poorly. I apologized profusely when I calmed down, but I wish to avoid any further mishaps in that vein. Does anyone know where I would be able to purchase fishing supplies?

Also, as I was unable to pass out much candy during the actual events of Geistnacht due to everything that occurred, I am left with a large quantity of leftovers and I am unable to eat it all. Is anyone else having this problem? I was thinking of leaving it out in a common area, but I do not know if that is what's done here.

Otherwise get a stick, hot glue or tie a knife to it and there's your spear.

That would be very helpful, as the marketplaces here can be a bit overwhelming compared to what I am used to. I actually arrived with a spear, but I would prefer to fish with a rod given that while I enjoy catching fish to eat, my true aim in fishing is relaxation.

That is very true. I doubt I will be lacking in options when it comes to what to do with it.

I'm usually pretty good with maps, but I'm better hands-on.

I simply asked where I could purchase fishing supplies. I am not entirely certain if “fishing” has a different meaning in the local slang or if they were merely playing a trick on me, but giving the... supplies... on offer at the shop I was directed to, I suspect it could be the former.

My first thought would be to try a food pantry, soup kitchen, or homeless shelter - they often take donations of unopened candy. I must confess that I'm not certain whether Lunatia has all of those facilities, however.

Failing that, you could leave some on your desk in the school, for students to take when they visit your office.

Those are both excellent ideas, and I may just divide the candy up and donate half of it. Some found me a bit intimidating back home, so having candy around for the children might do a bit to combat that image.

Some of my fellow teachers at the last school I worked at found great success in softening their image that way. I've never had that problem - apparently I couldn't be intimidating if I tried, or so my students said - but I can confirm the candy strategy's effectiveness.
