There are no odd ears or other features, and in fact, she's reaching up to touch her head and feel it from different angles.]

You know you've been in this city for way too long when not turning into an animal during your cycle is weird. I was one hundred percent waiting to wake up with bunny ears [Kay holds up two fingers over her head, in front of her ponytail, to illustrate.] again like always last Iris, but nothing! [She spreads her arms, and shrugs.] I don't mind not turning into anything, but I really liked the electric magic that came with being an Iris or whatever you call someone who's Iris...

I'm just worried if this means I'm gonna get some different crazy moonblessing like the time I became a fox. But now that I think about it...

[A snap of her fingers.]

Hey, if you could choose what animal you'll change into every time your moon cycle is happening, what would it be?

A cat. I've always wanted to be a cat. Sleep around all day and be petted and have it so easy.

No... I wish... I'm already always hungry so what else would be new! I'm Iris... I don't... I mean, my name is already Usagi! Now I have ACTUAL bunny ears sometimes.

It's rare to see people eager to become something other than human.

If I could chose to turn into something?

I dunno, maybe something strong, like a dragon or something?

Then again, a certain somebody might never forgive me for something like that, so...

Yeah, I was just asking around in case you could choose. And this is the first time my moonblessing didn't pop up like it always has every month.

[While she'd like to be a bird and fly, being a normal human suits her just fine.]

Why not? Dragons are pretty cool...

For some reason, her species and dragons just don't get along.

I wouldn't be happy at all if she suddenly decided to hate me after everything we've been through, so...

Then again, as long as she's not here, I guess it wouldn't really matter.

I’d rather not change. Having my hands is important to me, and I seem to keep getting things that leave me without proper fingers.

I want to be a different animal each time, maybe even a beetle!

Mm... honestly, if I could choose what I could be every moon cycle... I don't know! I think I'm enough of a fish already!

I'd rather not change either, but it'd be nice to have a choice in the matter, at the very least. And to have fingers. [That's rough, buddy.]

[It's not every day you find someone not only eager to turn into an animal, but to turn into almost every animal.]

But what do you get during your moon cycle?

[She looks like a nice blue lady. Really, at this point Kay doesn't even question it.]

You'd be able to explore the sea if you were a fish! That'd be so much fun!

I’ve heard some people turn fully into animals, so I suppose it could be worse. [ an audible sigh. ] If I were to choose for myself, though… it would be nice to have wings.

[ They take a moment, genuinely pondering the question. ]

Becoming a peacock might be interesting. With gorgeous tail feathers all the time, who needs clothes!

Well, I could explore the sea already if I wanted to but... Fish seem to have such nice lives.
