my respectful salute to everyone reading this. my name is wei wuxian, from the yunmeng jiang sect. i have some questions and a request, if it pleases.

from what i've been told, moonlacing is the practice of creating chroma. it requires at least two willing participants, and physical contact is involved.

how much contact is needed? would exposed skin touching covered skin work? how long does one need to be in contact with their moonlacing partner in order to succeed in creating chroma, what's the bare minimum? how exactly is it stored, and can you learn how moonlacing is done? has anyone succeeded in moonlacing by themselves? are there limitations to moonlacing? does it still work if your partner is unconscious, or otherwise unable to participate due to injury or some other misfortune? how quickly can you lose chroma, what's the quickest that anyone's ever drained their reserves?

i have so many questions!

anyway, my request is this: would anyone be willing to help me test the answers to these questions by moonlacing with me? i'll be more than grateful for the help!

Perhaps, though they may not be moonlacing ones as much as human ones. There is only so much... intense moonlacing that a person can do.

by intense moonlacing you mean sex, don't you. i'm starting to catch on with the euphemisms. there's a surprising lack of them, i'll be honest. it's taking some getting used to.

Well, the more mutually pleasurable the contact, the more Chroma is produced, making the moonlacing more intense. So, yes, sex - but not all sex.

so it's the intensity of the connection, however temporary the emotional bond. or is the bond optional? do you have to like the person you're moonlacing with for it to be effective?

Not all sex results in pleasure for all parties. If it is not mutually pleasurable, then, no, it does result in moonlacing. That goes for other contact, too. From caresses and embraces, to sparring, to whatever other form is chosen. It only produces chroma if it is pleasing for both. Or all. Emotional bond does sometimes enhance the pleasure, but it is not always the case.

First and foremost, indeed, though I was also meaning situations in which it is consensual, but not pleasurable to both. You need to both please and allow yourself to be pleased. That may be easier than some situations than others.

i can imagine, surprisingly. wanting to give and not ask for anything in turn can be an addictive thing.

and to answer your question, well. it's not that it's dangerous. it's just frowned upon, to have intimate relations with someone out of wedlock, and it's particularly complicated for me given the clan's name that i carry. i was adopted by uncle jiang, who was a good friend to my parents. i was orphaned young, you see. and uncle jiang, he's not just some ordinary cultivator, he's the sect leader and head of his clan. any dishonor i bring to my name is twice the dishonor to his.
