my respectful salute to everyone reading this. my name is wei wuxian, from the yunmeng jiang sect. i have some questions and a request, if it pleases.

from what i've been told, moonlacing is the practice of creating chroma. it requires at least two willing participants, and physical contact is involved.

how much contact is needed? would exposed skin touching covered skin work? how long does one need to be in contact with their moonlacing partner in order to succeed in creating chroma, what's the bare minimum? how exactly is it stored, and can you learn how moonlacing is done? has anyone succeeded in moonlacing by themselves? are there limitations to moonlacing? does it still work if your partner is unconscious, or otherwise unable to participate due to injury or some other misfortune? how quickly can you lose chroma, what's the quickest that anyone's ever drained their reserves?

i have so many questions!

anyway, my request is this: would anyone be willing to help me test the answers to these questions by moonlacing with me? i'll be more than grateful for the help!

Hello, Senior Wei. Those are definitely good questions. Unfortunately, I just arrived as well so I don't have the answers, but I'd be interested in finding out as well.

Having skin covered doesn't make a difference as far as I've noticed and there doesn't really seem to be a "bare minimum". Mostly just the longer the better, I suppose.

As far as losing chroma it seems to be determined by how much you exert yourself and what you're doing. Using any supernatural abilities- natural or otherwise- seems to only exacerbate the process.

Oh, but why do you think there are upper limitations?

Young Master Wei, the losing of Chroma is complicated because we use it up when we use spiritual energy, and it is also the currency here, so we lose it when we buy things, and for those under one of the three moons, it is even more complicated, because they burn it during the moon cycles. So while experimenting is a good idea, I suggest that you try not to stay at what you consider the minimum...

To get real answers you would most likely need a proper study done with multiple participants and a control group.

You can indeed help get chroma to someone while they are unconscious through moonlacing, though large amounts require, uh. Very intense moonlacing.
