[ after an embarrassingly long time spent figuring out the functions of the communication bracelet - look, it's a lot to take in all in one go - wei wuxian types out a message that's equal parts honest inquiry and throwing things on a wall to see what sticks. ]

my respectful salute to everyone reading this. my name is wei wuxian, from the yunmeng jiang sect. i have some questions and a request, if it pleases.

[ okay, the manners part is done. wei wuxian can now go wild. ]

from what i've been told, moonlacing is the practice of creating chroma. it requires at least two willing participants, and physical contact is involved.

how much contact is needed? would exposed skin touching covered skin work? how long does one need to be in contact with their moonlacing partner in order to succeed in creating chroma, what's the bare minimum? how exactly is it stored, and can you learn how moonlacing is done? has anyone succeeded in moonlacing by themselves? are there limitations to moonlacing? does it still work if your partner is unconscious, or otherwise unable to participate due to injury or some other misfortune? how quickly can you lose chroma, what's the quickest that anyone's ever drained their reserves?

i have so many questions!

anyway, my request is this: would anyone be willing to help me test the answers to these questions by moonlacing with me? i'll be more than grateful for the help!

thank you for your time!

A control group are the people who dont receive anything in the study. In this case people not doing the actions studied in order to compare the differences. They are used as a baseline. I suppose in a way they are "under your control" but only in the sense of knowing what and what they are not doing. You want to have accurate information after all.

It's the scientific method. I cant say exactly what steps there are, but basically you get at least two groups of people, one your control group, and the other the ones you experiment with. In this case you would have them do all of the things you're curious about. Generally in an order or with space between. So perhaps one day you would have them all hold hands and monitor the response, and the next day hold hands through gloves. Another day could be inducing sleep in half the group and seeing of anything happens if the other half try to moonlace with them.

Well, people here could perhaps volunteer. I wouldn't mind helping out either. I know some people can be gathered by paying them....

Of course when getting volunteers it's important to outline what it is you mean to do with them in case it's something that would make them u willing.

That could be an offered incentive, yes.

That does seem mean, I don't mind people that talk a lot as long as it's not nonsense. Also, don't people who talk a lot tend to have more friends?

Sure, I wouldn't mind that! Though, I don't know much I can really tell you, I only know what I've read before.

Some people are just in a perpetual bad mood I suppose. The type where you have to get to know them to see their other moods.

True, even a little can go a long way.

I'm not really sure, I haven't been here very long. Maybe a cafe? Or, the library?
