[ after an embarrassingly long time spent figuring out the functions of the communication bracelet - look, it's a lot to take in all in one go - wei wuxian types out a message that's equal parts honest inquiry and throwing things on a wall to see what sticks. ]
my respectful salute to everyone reading this. my name is wei wuxian, from the yunmeng jiang sect. i have some questions and a request, if it pleases.
[ okay, the manners part is done. wei wuxian can now go wild. ]
from what i've been told, moonlacing is the practice of creating chroma. it requires at least two willing participants, and physical contact is involved.
how much contact is needed? would exposed skin touching covered skin work? how long does one need to be in contact with their moonlacing partner in order to succeed in creating chroma, what's the bare minimum? how exactly is it stored, and can you learn how moonlacing is done? has anyone succeeded in moonlacing by themselves? are there limitations to moonlacing? does it still work if your partner is unconscious, or otherwise unable to participate due to injury or some other misfortune? how quickly can you lose chroma, what's the quickest that anyone's ever drained their reserves?
i have so many questions!
anyway, my request is this: would anyone be willing to help me test the answers to these questions by moonlacing with me? i'll be more than grateful for the help!
thank you for your time!

[he's kidding. well, mostly. also because he hasn't figured out how to work the front camera AND text while doing so.]
is it safe to assume that you and he - i? - are on familiar terms?

Especially when you're who you are...
He rescued me, once. I was very grateful.
So I rescued him when he was in trouble.
It was quite the funny situation...
We didn't spend a lot of time together, but...
I would be happy to assist you, if you need.
This place is full of strange and wonderful things that took me a while to learn, too!

...though, i wasn't untoward to you or anything like that, was i?
and i have nothing to hide at all, i just got here!
i just haven't figured out how to send pictures through here.
you make me sound so much more sinister than i actually am, i'm a little hurt.
i'm a responsible troublemaker!
and i would appreciate any help i can get! would you be interested in meeting with me?

[ They held hands, gasp. ]
... though that reply does sound like a familiar one.
I would be happy to meet with you, though.
Do you know where the Groves are?

[the scandal!!!]
i think i've been there! where in the groves would you like to meet? i can get there quickly enough, if you're free now.

There's a clearing called the Plume Circle where peacock-like birds roam. It's a bit out of the way in there, but it's a lovely place with a fountain spring.
I like to dance there. It should be easy to find, once you cross the flower bridge.
[ All these areas will become very obvious once he asks around. ]
I'm heading there— so I'll wait for you.
I look forward to meeting you. I hope I'll be able to satisfy your curiosity for whatever you wish to know.
