my respectful salute to everyone reading this. my name is wei wuxian, from the yunmeng jiang sect. i have some questions and a request, if it pleases.

from what i've been told, moonlacing is the practice of creating chroma. it requires at least two willing participants, and physical contact is involved.

how much contact is needed? would exposed skin touching covered skin work? how long does one need to be in contact with their moonlacing partner in order to succeed in creating chroma, what's the bare minimum? how exactly is it stored, and can you learn how moonlacing is done? has anyone succeeded in moonlacing by themselves? are there limitations to moonlacing? does it still work if your partner is unconscious, or otherwise unable to participate due to injury or some other misfortune? how quickly can you lose chroma, what's the quickest that anyone's ever drained their reserves?

i have so many questions!

anyway, my request is this: would anyone be willing to help me test the answers to these questions by moonlacing with me? i'll be more than grateful for the help!

I'm fine with helping. But how do you plan on testing if it works on an unconscious or injured person?

I'm not going to hit you without a good reason for it. Or moonlace with someone who isn't conscious.

[ Concerning the latter, he wouldn't outside of dire situations where giving a kiss of life or moving someone is necessary. Beyond special circumstances doing any of the above is wrong on more than one level. Even if the contact is platonic. ]

A better way to test this would be to find someone who is comfortable with moonlacing while they sleep.

If they agree to it you could do something that wasn't intimate. Perhaps hold them or just hand through the night.

oh. but i don't know anyone i could reasonably ask, i've only just arrived. say, i'll volunteer myself! if you're willing, then you can just moonlace with me while i sleep.

this way no one has to get hit or knocked unconscious! how am i going to observe the moonlacing if i'm going to be the one asleep though...

would you be willing to take notes? oh, how many hours would i have to be asleep? would we need to be moonlacing as i fall asleep, or can it be done after i've fallen asleep?

i have more questions now than when i started out.

all that said, are we inviting a third party? we should both agree on the third party, so that there's an equal footing with trust between us - i won't hold it against you for having reservations with this, as i'm a stranger to you, and i'm asking for a lot besides.

[for his part, neither has wei wuxian been to a brothel before - he wouldn't dare, not when he's known as the adopted son of a well-respected sect leader and an up-and-coming disciple of rising renown. he's carefree, certainly, and a troublemaker too, but he's not so reckless with his name and reputation that he'll take part in carnal relations out of wedlock.
