Hey! This is Max, though probably most of you don't know me. I've been kind of a lurker on here for the most part. But I wanted to ask a question of my own, if everyone's cool with that.

So here goes, I guess:

I know some of us seem to have some powers during our particular moon phase, but I wanted to talk about possible powers you guys might have had before coming here? Back in your own world.

Specifically though, I'm interested in knowing if anyone has any experience with manipulating time, and any possible consequences you know of that came with using that power. First-hand experience or otherwise, either would be useful.

Thanks!

depends on what you mean by 'manipulating time', doesn't it?

you mind giving an example?
madannoshashu: (Ω Like I'd know.)

well, generally speaking, you can divide these things up into about 3 categories where i'm from: time magic, time travel, time manipulation

with time magic, you just cast a spell, say, when you're in the middle of a fight to stop time temporarily. you can move while your opponent(s) can't, but it doesn't last very long or effect much outside a certain radius

time travel is a bit more wonky. i won't bore you with the technicalities, but there are 2 main rules: 1) you can't travel to a time you don't already exist in, and 2) you have to abandon your physical body to do it

and then there's time manipulation, which is where you might, say, go back in time and change things up. the risk you run with that is 1) a time paradox and/or 2) screwing yourself by messing around with things best left alone

needless to say, time magic is the safest of all of these. wouldn't really recommend experimenting with the other two.

a storm, huh?

you mind describing it in a little more detail?
madannoshashu: (Ω Well that wasn't kosher.)

well, i haven't really seen anything quite like that myself

but that doesn't mean it couldn't or didn't happen where you're from

because ultimately, if you're messing with time and altering something, you're also technically screwing around with a reality that already happened

so you could potentially cause a ripple effect -- one where you're warping space and time without realizing it

i'm just spit-balling here since, like i said, i've never seen 'time powers' do anything quite like that, but that doesn't mean it's impossible
