I gave myself a name. I didn't really have one before.

I never thought about changing my name. Why do you want to change yours?

I gave my sister a nickname. She hated it for a while, but she likes it now. I think.

I called her Pidgeon, which got shortened to Pidge because... well, I forgot the difference between a pigeon and a magpie.

To my credit, I was six.

Arus was a name that stayed with me for a long while, but I will always return to my proper given name.

And I can go to many worlds in a small span of time, if I don't sleep.

Usually a nickname is something given to you by someone else.
I knew someone back home who chose his own, though. He doesn't go by it anymore, but I'm pretty sure it was the name of a book character.

Not anymore. Some people still know me by that name, but I just use my actual name. I'm doing work above board now, anyway.

Was there a reason to why he chose his own nickname? Honestly, I didn’t choose mine. It was just something that just stuck from when I started performing. But I do choose my actual stage names. I’m thinking of going by a new one.

People at the taverns started calling me Fish because I was the only one around! And it just stuck, really. It’s very on the nose, but I like it. You’ll get it if you see me in person. Oh! Actually, here...

Well, I’m not sure about his particular circumstances, but he said something like it stuck so he prefers it rather than his real name. I can understand. I use my nickname rather than my real name myself.
