I know this sounds like an odd question but I can't think of any better way to come up with an answer.

Say that you've just basically returned from the dead. Not a zombie or anything but well kind of but not really!

What should you give your friends as an apology gift? Flowers? Something more extravagant?

Mostly, yes.

I had that I ended up leaving everyone behind because I was too distracted.

They probably experienced so much grief...

Well...no.

But why would there be? The only time you think about the dead coming back to life is with zombies. And zombies aren't too common.

Because I caused them much grief with my death.

I was supposed to be the one they depended on, after all.

But you can't exactly do that when you're dead.

It's even worse when you die in their arms...

But, then again, dying and then coming back to life isn't exactly a common enough thing to start making it a tradition.

Besides, it just seems like the proper thing to do. I hate making my friends sad.

Well, in a way, I guess I hurt my friends by dying.

I still have not figured out the answer to this one myself.

I found that apologizing and offering to spend time seemed to make the most difference.

But my friends were still hurt by my death. You usually apologize when you hurt people, even if you didn't mean to.

Truth is a gift. An honest answer when asked about the circumstances of one's death and return should suffice.

I just happen to know people who saw me die beforehand that are here...

I didn't do gifts, but I apologized and took my brother out to dinner when I came back. A few times.

If they love you, they'll just be glad to have you with them again. That's present enough. They might even be frustrated with you for trying to apologize.

That definitely sounds like them. I'm their big sis Maya, after all, and that's all that matters. At least that's what they say.

I just can't help but want to properly make things up to them. They shouldn't have had to see my die like that.

The pain of death cannot be erased easily. Speak with your friends, and ask them what they need. And, if they are willing, ask them for help with what you need.
