[Don is newly not furry but he's also looking annoyed and angry. His normally pristine features are grim. He's human - back to his handsome self but his hair hangs over his features and he's aggressively smoking a cigarette.]

So apparently I spend Sanguis as a bear thing. I know there's another fucking moon coming and I don't know what else is going to happen.

For the people who end up furry, you what - shave? And How do you handle clothing. Somebody ought to write a fucking book on this and let me publish it.

[He exhales smoke before taking another long drag on cigarette.]

And I'm not normally this open about this kind of thing but I need to moonlace. Bad. I'll buy you dinner and drinks. Or owe you in this case.

[He mutters something like takes all of the fun out of this before he sighs, leaning back and trying to relax.]

My personal preference is to not be a bear at all.

[The confidence was nice though. And if he could use fire...magic holy crap. His gaze goes distant before he opens his eyes wide.]

You're a deer and you turn into a wolf? What's that like.

And it's that time of the month. That's a more polite way to discuss it.

You don't get a say there. Sorry. [ He's very clearly not. The tone has a bit of that okay whatever implication to it. Everyone goes through it here, and he knows it. ]

Use your imagination, I guess. It's something hard to describe. [ Impossible, even. ]

I don't think that's necessarily more polite. Just say 'During Sanguis' or 'During Three Moons'. Because then it's more specific anyway.

How do you pass the time during the month? I mean since you're such an expert.

I'm a student. You can also work. Or enjoy a new hobby.

Whatever. There's a lot of free time. And it's not like Chroma's difficult to make.

Just do whatever you want to do. How's that difficult?

This world isn't the same as you want. And obviously, the average person can understand when I say 'do what you want' it means within reason and without disrupting the way other people decide to live.

Unless you're being petulant because you can be.

[There's nothing so American as being petulant, being demanding, being an animal inwardly (if not outwardly) but Don spends his time as a bear now and maybe...well maybe he'll learn something.

For now however, he raises an amused eyebrow.]

See, now I think you're insulting me. You're going to have to elaborate why you think I'm limiting myself, or why you think you know me well enough to pass judgment.

What do you think I should be doing? Start a gang, roam the streets, cause trouble?

Look my Uncle used to go deer hunting frequently. You have power at last I don't understand why you wouldn't want to...at least think about trying to own your power.

[ He's going to actually use airquotes here. And though he's pretty annoyed, there's no real shift in his disposition or tone. He maintains a calm demeanor because that's how he works and operates. ]

"Power at last"? I'm not sure what you think my world is like, but everyone is an animal where I am from. We don't have humans who think they're apex predators, but really aren't.

In fact, I'm looked at more highly there than I am here in many ways.

Since you mention it, though. What do you think is worth more - a deer head or the head of a lion? I had this debate with someone at home and we never had a real conclusion. Since you mentioned hunting.

[Humans are the worst - collectively - but Don shrugs his shoulders. He frowns at the hand gesture before speaks, sincere. This is the edge that he has as a backwoods boy, as a country bumpkin.]

But I can see how rarity or ease of access would make a difference. So maybe there's none where I'm from. Which, unfortunately, doesn't settle it.

The point is that I am no less powerful than my lion counterparts.
