Through curiosity both morbid and not - what were you in the middle of before bring brought here, and how urgent do you consider returning to it?

Just going by the way things have been around here lately, I won't precisely be surprised if answers trend towards "having a crisis", "dying horribly", or "watching someone else die horribly"; even so, it isn't as though I'm going to judge for such things either way.

So you still retained some sense of self, even through all of that.

Was there a reason this happened, or are some people just fortunate when they die where you're from?

I'm not human, and I've always had a strong connection to the element of wind. I can only assume it was because of that. For those with strong spirits, sometimes those can remain in the world even after the body's death, but I'm the only one I've heard of who became an element.

It certainly does. Given that I'm not interested in pretending that that's not at least part of the reason why I asked, I appreciate your willingness to indulge me.

What about you? What circumstances were you in when you were brought here?

Nothing quite so dire. I was overseeing a project that would ultimately be for humanity's benefit - so it's certainly important that I return, but it isn't as though I'm in any sort of imminent danger of dying.

How was your project going to benefit humanity?

[New medicine? Useful technology? She's curious.]

Disaster containment, primarily. We're undergoing a number of crises that have decided to hit the world at once; ugly business, really. I'm attempting to mitigate some of it.

I've considered. It's been some time since I've worked with a large organization like that.
