Through curiosity both morbid and not - what were you in the middle of before bring brought here, and how urgent do you consider returning to it?

Just going by the way things have been around here lately, I won't precisely be surprised if answers trend towards "having a crisis", "dying horribly", or "watching someone else die horribly"; even so, it isn't as though I'm going to judge for such things either way.

Not precisely. Once in a while you simply have some very determined people stumbling into all sorts of adventures that may or may not be unfortunate, however. Several of my colleagues when I was in law enforcement have gone on to be disaster magnets.

It's exactly why I tried to keep my nose out of trouble, too. Better a bunch of people with axes to grind go after trouble than a guy who doesn't want to tag along with people always looking to fight.

Besides, they were too interested in slaughtering their enemies, and that's never sat right with me.

Fighting I don't have a problem with, it's killing that I hate.

Might I ask why? More as a matter of curiosity with regards to your thoughts than anything.
