Through curiosity both morbid and not - what were you in the middle of before bring brought here, and how urgent do you consider returning to it?

Just going by the way things have been around here lately, I won't precisely be surprised if answers trend towards "having a crisis", "dying horribly", or "watching someone else die horribly"; even so, it isn't as though I'm going to judge for such things either way.

Oh, really? Even if it might not have been particularly special, it does sound nice having a place like that where you can get away from people for a while.

It was usually me and a friend of mine; we'd known each other since we were teenagers. Not a bad arrangement altogether, if you ask me.

I've never really been fond of large populated areas like this; it's new to me in several ways. All general moon-related oddness not withstanding. Were you fond of where you were, or was it simply somewhere to be?

A bit of both, perhaps? There were things about it that I was fond of, but if those things can be replicated elsewhere, then it just becomes somewhere to be, doesn't it?

I suppose at that point it becomes a matter of desire to replicate it, as opposed to the desire to leave it be and form entirely new attachments elsewhere.

Ah, well... I can't say there are not some new attachments I've become fond of here, but there are still things I would like to have replicated that had made me fond of my place back home, I suppose.

Understandable. Though I admit it's not the approach I've taken; I prefer to let things lie, at least when it comes to the way things were back then.

Not particularly. I left on my own terms, when there wasn't much left for me there. It was a long time ago besides; even that person I was there with would be strange to talk to now.

I guess now that I think about it, there are some people I didn't mind the company of, but it would be strange to have them here and, in fact, it would probably be for the best if they weren't.

Believe me, I understand. I would appreciate having some of my associates here, in one way or another. But when it comes to actually considering the possibility, "please, god, no" sums up the general effect.

Indeed. They would probably be offended at first if I said as much, but I would also like to think they'd understand perhaps should they ever actually show up here some day.

Granted, with some of them, I'm personally not sure if I wouldn't wish this place upon them, or if I wouldn't wish them upon this place. I've worked with some interesting people, and I'm sure they would find a way to make the best of it. Whether anyone else actually wants them to or not.
