I've been thinking lately that the real stars over here at Beans! could use some more internet exposure, what do you think?

If you haven't yet paid a visit to Beans! Cat Cafe, please consider giving us a try! We're located on level two of Lunatia and are a combination cat cafe and animal shelter — a place where you can come to spend time, enjoy a drink, play with our cats, and maybe even take a new furry friend home with you when you go.

Who knows? Maybe YOUR favorite cat will be best (or worst) cat of the week next!

Honestly, I'm willing to try pretty much anything if it'll help out the cats. Running Beans! isn't really about the business, you know? I just...I wanted to help and do some good, and I'm sort of figuring it out as I go.

A poll, huh...so, like, have people vote for their favorite cat and then give that cat some kind of special recognition?

A medal or a ribbon. Play him/her up as a winner. Don't right him a backstory. Just a cute little cat winning a prize...

[He folds his hands, staring at his communicator.]

Would you be opposed to a model shoot? Take home a friend? I can find you some models who'll work for cheap...

[Hmm.]

I should introduce myself. Don Draper, Draper advertising.

Oh, WOW. No wonder you know so much about this, I was going to say!!

Actually...a model shoot sounds really cute! Just people having fun with our cats, right? Helping people get interested in them?

...Six models.

[Specifically. An idea is brewing in his mind and he jots several things down on a piece of paper.]

One family of four, mom dad boy girl if you can help it. I can find you prismals for that. Then one ... shy"cute" girl. Schoolgirl type, glasses, maybe shy, a little giggly and silly. Somebody who - your cats will be their first real friend. Finally one boy, a little older, football, sports type. What I want to present to you, is two different ads. One, adding the fifth family member. Something the kids will love. Maybe mom and dad are allergic to dogs. Maybe one of the kids is, but cat's the answer. The other ad I want to present to you is a lovestory. Owning a pet is a lovestory, it's about finding a companion who will never lie to you. Who would die for you. There's something deep that connects people to their roots with pets. Dogs, Cats, fish, ferrets whatever the hell people keep around here. Our girl is shy. Nobody likes her. she's never outgoing, keeps to the back of the class, big glasses. The cat is her friend. First real friend. The guy's background dressing. The guy needs to be muscular, attractive, not the type you'd normally see with a bookworm. I have some ideas for who but he'd be awed by her coming out of her shell. One life being lived - that's the family. The other life just beginning. Simple. Digital -

Two different widely circulated print ads and then get one of your employees to bring back the media animal accounts. ...Winning cat takes over the media account every week.

...Whoa.

That's...incredible. You just came up with that, that fast? It sounds amazing!

[Amaze and astonish. PT Barnum, Alexander Hamilton, Donald Draper is just as ~~troubled~~ as good as America's greats. If that bodes well for anyone, even himself...well. That remains to be seen.]

If you'd like, I can draw up a contract for my agency's services, schedule a shoot day and find a moonblessed to be in the ad who matches the specifications I gave you. You're paying a significantly reduced rate -

Hmmm, paid in exposure, huh? Well, I can't say no to an offer like that! I'll run it past my assistant manager, too, just to make sure we're on the same page, but I can't imagine why we wouldn't take such a great opportunity.

And who knows, maybe you'll take a liking to one of our cats, yourself!

...Primarily exposure. There's a significantly reduced rate involved in my firm's services.

[He's truly giving you a discount. It's genuinely cheap.]

...I love cats.

You know, we offer a special deal where we let you come in a half-hour early and lie facedown on a soft mat while we pile cats on top of you.

I mean, it's less a special offer and more that I just do that to my older brother sometimes because it's funny, but if you like cats that much, we could definitely arrange it!

[Oh god.

This is a good account potentially. It could be franchised turned into a chain. That's what this place needs. Franchises. Things that could inspire other people to build their own businesses.

So. Be nice.]

[Animals are animals. nngh.]

Great! I mean, or you can just play with them awhile and maybe enjoy a nice hot drink, if you don't REALLY want to go with the cat-stacking option. We're pretty flexible here at Beans!

I'll be over there.

[And true to form within a day or so, he's at the cafe, dressed immaculately. He's nowhere near Sanguis, and so he's immaculate, hair brushed back, tugging on his tie and observing everything with the cool look of someone totally in his element.

When he spots Reimi he offers her a hand and a slick used car salesman smile.]

Reimi? Don Draper. It's a pleasure.

[Don Draper isn't exactly the sort of person who tends to show up in the cafe environment — and that's coming from someone who's used to seeing animal people, vampires, and Chinese men from the fourth century among her clientele. He looks like someone who would be in marketing, really. Very slick, very American.

A pair of cats trail at her heels as she heads over to meet him, smiling brightly, and when he offers his hand she takes it easily.]

Hi, it's so great to meet you! Thanks for coming by. Be careful, some of the cats are pretty friendly and like to get underfoot when visitors come by. They're used to getting fed!

I like clients to feel like they're taken care of-

[He gets no further as a big orange cat appears and stares up at him before rubbing against his leg. He twitches and stares down at the creature, clearly discombobulated.

Smile on his face, he reached down to offer the creature a scratch behind the ears. There were cats on the farm - there were lots of animals on the farm, but he could never get any of them to come to him.

Slowly, slowly the discombobulation vanishes and he nods at her, rising.]

I think these guys are cute. It's a good sale. And who knows, if you grow the business you could even open a second location if you wanted to. There are plenty of little guys like this-

[A tiny gray creature sits on his shoe, straight up on it, and he winces, trying to gently nudge him off without hurting him.]

[Hmm. She is suddenly skeptical of his previous assertion that he adores cats — maybe he does, but he certainly doesn't seem comfortable around them. Still, she figures she'll rescue him, so she bends down easily and scoops up the gray cat, flipping him upside-down and cradling him in her arms like a baby.

It quickly becomes apparent that this is something they've done before, with how well the cat takes to it, stretching out his legs into the air and turning into a half-solid, half-liquid cat state.]

Actually, one of the things people have suggested is that we expand into dogs. You know, diversify a little, for cat people and dog people both. I'd like to do that a lot, I think. Just, help out as much as I can.

Dogs are a bit more "people" friendly. You could make this a general pet cafe. I've never seen dogs in places like this. That's unique.

[The orange Tom stares up and him, and he's back with a very loud purr. Bending down, Don hesitates before trying to copy her moves. The cat squirms and rubs against him before jumping down with a tail beneath his chin.]

Oh I like that one. What's his name?

The orange one? That's Pumpkin Spice! One of our volunteers named him and I think it's some kind of inside joke. Something about the cafe having Pumpkin Spice year-round.

[SHE'S FROM 1983, SHE DOESN'T KNOW JACK ABOUT MEMES]

And then this one is Smudge! He's just as friendly as anything, and loves people. It doesn't matter if they're strangers or not.

[The big orange one reminds him of a farm cat - one of the one's he'd watch skip around the barn. He'd looked soft and sweet. At the name, he snorts.]

Spicy pumpkins. Someone's a little too harvest-themed.

[The smaller creature gets a nudge as he raises a hand for the creature to sniff.]

Let's take them and talk contracts.

[His features gaze around the room, studying people and the animals. The place is reasonable. It's cute even. And if they added dogs...]

...This place is really making people happy.
