[A teenager of the modern era though he may be, Iida Tenya has never been especially adept at the finer art of technology. He had engines in his legs, knew quite a lot about engines as a whole, but mostly those of locomotives or automobiles. Technology was an entirely separate beast, and one he knew only well enough to fumble through use of a smartphone with, as one may call it, two left thumbs.]

[As such, he's entirely too close to the camera on his phone when the feed starts, and he startles away upon the realization. As he does so, his surroundings become clear-- a vaporwave nightmare of a restaurant stands behind him, making the light blue of his polo look fluorescent.]

Greetings, people of Lunatia! I, erm. Seem to have come into accidental ownership of this funky little joint my boss called McDenny's, I'm certain you all remember Mister Alfred Jones. I couldn't bring myself to change anything about the place, even if I haven't the slightest of an idea of the style, but McDenny's is now reopened! And if anyone has more experience in running a business, by all means feel free to drop by and lend me your wisdom, I'm afraid I'm very nearly winging it.

[ooc; so my roommate is the former-America, and i've been meaning to make this post for like three months? better late than never, i guess?? anybody that worked for america at mcdenny's is free to assume they've retained their existing positions or abandoned them, iida's just too much of a square to have not kept working even when his boss mcfucking vanished.]

Well, I'm not certain that I would call this a "fortress", nor should I expect any enemies, but I suppose having someone aiming to be a guard couldn't hurt any. [And his lack of volume control is reminiscent of Alfred, anyhow. He needs to keep the energy of the place alive, after all.]

It is predominantly a diner, I'm not sure it quite qualifies as fast food. More of a sit-down place, but one you don't have to spend upwards of an hour at if you time it well. Upstairs there is also a lounge, though I'm still working out how to manage that.

[A beat, and he clears his throat.]

Terribly sorry, my name is Iida Tenya! And you are?

I would at least be willing to consult with you! I'm not so sure we need much marketing, Mr. Jones seemed to handle that well enough while he was here just by word of mouth. [His... very, very loud mouth.]

In my defense, I didn't see the harm of it initially.
I am learning the folly of my ways.
None so much as I can find. Mr. Jones was... Something of an eclectic business owner, he sort of just did things as they happened.

This is of course assuming he actually comes in for his supposed duty when I inform him of the very stringent guidelines under which he is allowed to rip. ...Which is never, outside of if he were to otherwise be severely harmed himself, if you were concerned.

I actually started something of a ledger even when Mr. Jones was still here.
It's more that I'm uncertain how to go about actually running the place, when all this time I've just served tables.
It feels a bit odd to suddenly be in charge.

I'm afraid I don't see the issue with the phrase, but if it bothers you I will try to avoid it. As far as spicy food... Well, there isn't much on the menu that comes spicy, though it could be made spicy. Actually, could I infer with you on that? It seems wrong for me to inherit a restaurant lacking in something a classmate enjoys so much.

In a vague sense, I actually believe I do.

How does that even work? Were you the one he decided would take over if he disappeared or the the government just go "hi there you own a restaurant now have fun"?

It is, quite a bit!

It was never really discussed, but it's my own decision to see it gets taken care of-- some of his colleagues from home worked here with me, but it's all sort of been just... An elephant in the room since he left? I assume you never met him, he was... something of a memorable character.

That aside, how have you been, miss Videl?

Yeah, I never met him, so I don't really know how he was. Though it still seems weird that you're the one who ended up owning it if he had people from his home helping him in the first place. But I guess it really doesn't matter. At least you're interested in making sure the place stays running.

Honestly, I've been doing pretty great. A close friend of mine from back home is here now. It's been really great to see him again.
