My world isn't very... The word is probably "modern."

Firefighters have been around since ancient times, though. The technique has changed with the technology, but humans have been finding ways to fight fires as long as there have been fires.

[Seriously, Galo would never shut up about firefighters from ancient Japan, Lio would absolutely know.]

I never lived anywhere that had the luxury of having such a profession. Everyone is expected to pitch in during times of crisis.

Sounds similar to the places I lived and the people I lived with.

We were pushed out of society and forced to form our own community to survive.

I travel with someone who was scorned by the nation that summoned him. We've had to do quite a lot on our own. Neither of us would have survived alone. I owe him my life, too.

He's an idiot. Rash, brazen, foolhardy, and hopelessly carefree.
