[Perne is situated at a cosy-looking table in the Azure cafe. Chin in the palm of her hand, she tucks dark hair behind the shell of an ear.
Last time, she asked about a cathedral and couldn't recall getting a direct answer. She has, since then, assumed such a thing doesn't exist. But it did beckon some very interesting religious theory conversation.
This time, she has something different she is hunting for.]
I have found mineself with an alarming amount of free time and wish to invest it somewhere other than excessive and possibly unnecessary thought. I thought I had once heard rumour of a theatre house here in Lunatia. Is that true? I am aware we have other exhibitions of art, but mayhaps something musically or stagecraft inclined could be of benefit to many of us with such interests.
I acted as patron and worked within an opera house back where I hail from. I should like to reprise the role.

revenge of the phone
She accepts it, all the same, with a subtle dip of her head. Megumi continues and Perne feels distinctly pleased by the reaction. Perhaps she has only stuck to it to press buttons in a way that is just very characteristically Perne.]
You are a lady, are you not. Such a word is accompanied by elegance and I find elegance in you.
[It's really that simple.
As Megumi presses onward toward her time with the Palazzo Aldenard, Perne shifts in slight.]
The truth is that I did not have enough time with Master Torchier to establish that. When I was hired in, I insisted that I would be more well-suited to his staff and he begrudgingly suggested I act as his casting executive. He knew of mine background in music and dance, however, and wished me to take to the stage.
[For many reasons, Perne has not been inclined to do this. It's difficult to play a role when eyes may look at her considering she doesn't want anyone looking at her.]
then it was revenge of the foot
Elegance, in me? Now who's being a flatterer? I know I'm rough around the edges, lass. But it's sweet you think so.
[ She's the type to smash someone's face in and step on them after if they've earned that... but she won't stop her if it's to her comfort. Still- ]
Anyroad, if you're going to get the chance here, might as well, right? And if you do, I'll come to all your shows. You'd probably be the only person worth paying attention to on a stage! ... not that I've seen you. 'twould be hilarious if you were actually bad at it.
you better be resting
[She tips her head this way and that as she continues. She suspects very much that she wouldn't be bad. In fact, she's almost positive that she'll be quite good at it. She simply has the sense not to say it.]
I think I prefer to avoid the stage and the attention that would come with it. I already do not care for too many eyes on me. A stage would have an entire audience on me. It is easier for me to hide in the shadows if no one is looking at me.
I'm phone tagging but it doesn't mean I gotta like it x( runs in my dreams...
Excuse her while she just flusters, though. Secrets or not, it's still something she'll be a little bashful over, even if her reasons aren't what one may think. ]
The best sort of hiding is done in plain sight, though. If no one knows you've got anything to hide, no one's going to think that you're hiding anything, aye? People will pay more attention to folk that try to avoid it.
[ Just a little something learnt from the shinobi... ]
JUST BE GOOD TO YOURSELF.
[And in Ishgard, any whispers spoken are almost always negative. At least from her personal observation. She can't think of a single good rumour that's ever been said about her.
She has no interest in Lunatian rumours either.]
snuggles in u then
[ ... not that she's complaining. Some of those repressed folks could use a cheerful view. ]
... of course, you are a sight, anyone that doesn't at least stop to take a second glance is either slow or has no interest in beautiful women.
I will hold you.
[Or a lot longer.]
And you, are still quite the flatterer, I see. I look like any of mine other people, Megumi. No more lovelier. No less.
no subject
[ She does flick her ears, cupping her own cheek thoughtfully. ]
You really don't like talking about yourself though, lass. Were things really so terrible for you back home?
[ She's blunt, but that's something Perne knows, right? ]
no subject
[Megumi continues and Perne abruptly pauses. Her expression is, as ever, unreadable. It's difficult to determine if she's annoyed by how pointed the question is. There is no crime in curiosity, regardless of how she would like to prevent others from showing it.]
The answer to your question is yes.
[And then.] I have mine own reasons for keeping things to mineself. 'Tis not a personal slight. Eventually, I may come to share them, but I share only what I am comfortable sharing. That is how it should be for everyone. I would never seek to pry from others what they do not desire to share with me of their own accord.
no subject
I understand. I'm not asking you to tell me what happened unless you want to, though. Call it a catte's curiosity—
[ And there's a small smile. ]
I just wonder if it's worth holding onto when you're worlds away from home. Not to say you need to share it- but it seems at times, you hold yourself back from letting yourself be happy at all when you've the chance to leave all that behind. Of course, it's nothing that can vanish overnight, but... if you ever feel like you can, you should take the chance and free your mind, aye?
no subject
Well. It's all quite complicated. Perne is a coward, though she will not admit it so outright. She has no desire to relive her experiences and the truth is, to speak of them is nigh the same as breathing life into them. If she should stop to consider, Perne believes she will never be able to continue again.
There is no simple way to discuss any of that. It is better left in a box, locked up tight, and thrown far deep into an abyss where no one may be able to rest gaze upon it.]
There is no leaving behind what one will return to. You and I are not here forever. I will not fool mineself into thinking this is a long, extended reprieve from a world I am accustomed to. That I am not as unhappy as I once was ought to be testament enough that I am making an attempt.
[She pauses.] Unless you are not finding that obvious enough. In which case, I could hardly know what to do to please you without lying all of the proverbial cards on the table.

But it doesn't make her any less fascinating nor does it decrease her attraction. ]
You don't have to please me. I'm just wondering about what I can do to make you enjoy yourself even more. Your attempts are good— doubt you'd be settling in in this wild world if you weren't adapting! But we should indulge a bit more once in a while, aye? Like on my nameday.
[ She did like that— ]
What if we wrote a play together? Would you like that?
no subject
Now if you are, I suppose I can share opinion on reading material, but that is simply not a skill I have.
[...What would they get out of writing a play anyroad? Perne can't even begin to imagine what she would be writing about...]
Admittedly, I do not take you for a writer either. Not that appearances say everything.
no subject
[ This is all done with a dramatic flair and gesturing, and there might even be a twinkle in her eye as she does. ]
You're right in that "Doctor Megumi", the healer, doesn't write. But if you ever find yourself looking at the works of Hana Hoshino , Prismaket's Favourite Fantasy Writer—
[ Which is just her, with very popular fantasy and adventure fiction on the Prismarchive! And a link is provided— ]
— we might just know someone who can certainly write something to suit an aspiring theater participant, aye?
[ LOOK AT HOW PROUD SHE IS, PERNE!! ]
no subject
At least, that is what the elezen suspects. Deception would look good on her.]
I believe you are implying that you want to write a play and would wish me to star in it.
[She's still looking over the collection of some of her written works. A decent amount of it are things she hasn't read before, but to be fair, most of her reading in Lunatia has been nonfictional works revolving around Lunatian information.
She's never been against a bit of bodice-ripping in her stories, however...]
