004 » Video; UN: Persephone
[ This is something Persephone probably should have done a few months ago.
There is a very pink young woman on the screen. She gives a sheepish little wave as she smiles.
] Hello, my name is Persephone and I'm the Goddess of Spring back home. Yes, I'm an actual goddess, it's not just a title. Yes, I am as pink as I appear, I'm not sunburned. [ Her gaze drifts away from the camera as ticks off things that have been brought up to her. Her tone is cheerful. ] And yes, for the humans from various different versions of Earth, I am the Persephone of Greek Myth. But the stories you know are wrong...to an extent. If you have any questions pertaining to that I'll do my best to answer them.
Also, you don't have to treat me special or anything just because I'm a goddess! I'm really normal aside from the fact I randomly grow flowers in my hair sometimes. [ It's really not that random. ]
A-anywho! I'm making this post for a reason beyond that. One, I'm curious if there are any other deities from other worlds here. I've met one and spoke with another, though I believe she's gone now. If you are a deity I'm curious how being here has affected your abilities. I-if you wish to share, that is!
For anyone else, I'd like to hear about the gods of your world. If you have them.
Thanks!

Someone really thought you were sunburned? That's so rude. [ Poor woman. Peter has had a complicated relationship with gods in the past but not even him would never say that to one of them. ]
I've met the God of Thunder back home, he was an Asgardian. Kinda annoying, not that good-looking, scruffy. He joined my crew just before I woke up here.
And my biological father was a god as well, a Celestial.
video
It might have come up a couple of times.
[ There's a short pause. ]
Asgardian? ...So Norse. You mean you're traveling with Thor? That's really neat!
So you're a demi-god, then? I think we have a few of those running around back home because so-- [ She cuts herself off because she even if he isn't here she really shouldn't badmouth the King of the Gods. ] Uh, yeah.
no subject
[ He's bedded a few of them too but that's not here nor there. ]
Norse good, that's right. But he's not as impressive as it sounds. Tall, scruffy, the ego the size of a moon...
[ Peter scrunches up his nose a little, somewhat biased in his statement. Maybe if he had more time to get to know Thor now that he joined his crew they might have learned to get along. But he woke up in Lunatia two days after they left earth, not enough time for that. ]
Yeah, I'm a demi-god. Or was. My asshole father is deader than dirt and I lost all my powers. It doesn't change my biology but I can't do anything impressive anymore, I just have a higher tolerance to pain and injury. [ He doesn't sound very troubled by it. While it was really cool to be able to manipulate matter, to fly, and the like, destroying Ego was the right thing to do. At her backtracking, Peter can't help but snicker. She doesn't have to give him details about Zeus, he can extrapolate. ] Oh so that part of the myth is true, uh? I've heard a few things when I lived on Earth but I imagine that with Thor, most of our myths are partially inaccurate.
no subject
[ She chuckles softly. ] The size of the ego sounds about right for a god. Though I guess the Norse Pantheon like their facial hair because that's very unlike the gods I know.
The higher tolerance is something at least.
[ She gives a slow nod, looking a little sheepish. ] Y-yeah. That's certainly part of why my mother didn't want me to move to Olympus.
no subject
You're so very right about the Ego. And I give you 3 guesses to figure out what was my father's name, the first 2 don't count. He was also planet-sized. Well, an actual planet, rather.
[ There's some bitterness in his voice now that he's speaking more about Ego but it goes away pretty quickly. ]
Thor has a weird thing going on with his beard and his hair, We were trying to convince him to cut it a bit because he looked like a lumberjack.
I can't complain about it, no, it has saved my life in the past.
[ At that, he tilts his head in question ]. Don't all the Gods live there already?
no subject
[ Now she looks confused. She was talking about Thor and his ego... So she's just going to move past that and answer the question. ]
No, not all the gods. Momma settled in the Mortal Realm and that's where I grew. Most of the other gods live in Olympus but Hades and the Chthonic gods mostly live in the Underworld.
no subject
[ It was a bad joke, since his father is also named Ego. But Peter doesn't make much sense the best of times, so... ]
In that case, the change must have been really something. Woah, so you do know Hades, the real Hades? What's he like?
no subject
There are minotaurs and centaurs, to name a couple.
[ She begins to respond to how moving to Olympus was a pretty big change when Peter asks her about Hades. Almost instantly her face goes hot pink and blue flowers pop up in her hair. It's been six months and one heartbreak later and she still has such a strong reaction every time she thinks of him and she's only know him for about two weeks! ]
Oh, um, yes. Sort of. A lot of people think he's really scary but he's actually really kind. [ A pause. ] Unless he's been angered, of course. He also has eight dogs.
no subject
[ That with unicorns only showing up in front of virgins and pure of heart. Peter's not a terrible man but he's also none of those things.
Persephone's reaction is unexpected enough that Peter raises both of his eyebrows at the flowers growing in her hair. He remembers a little about the Hades and Persephone myth, so he knows they're supposed to be an item, but he also knows that those stories can be inaccurate. ]
Ah, I'm familiar with that sort of person. [ Gamora can be like that, because she looks serious and focused, but she's got one of the most honest hearts he's ever seen. ] The more dogs the better, if you ask me. You two get along then?
no subject
I suppose we do. [ It depends on if constant flirting and handholding and what seems like a gravitational pull between the two of them counts as getting along. ]
I mean, we're not bad terms or anything.
no subject
[ Ah, the 'unspoken thing'. It's always both fantastic and terrible all at once. ]
That's a good start already. The myths always say that Hades has a 3 headed dogs guarding the Gates of Hell. Do you know if that's true?
no subject
Cerberus? He doesn't always have three heads but he can change his size and form. That is his job though it's the Underworld. He's also the sweetest dog.
no subject
[ Pretty sure very few moonblessed on this planet have any chance of seeing a real unicorn. At least they have the dragons. ]
Not always? How does that work? Can he grow them and then make them disappear? The size-changing sounds useful, I read that he was huge, which would make it really hard to give him head pats.
no subject
I really don't know how it works. He just kind of changes his shape and then there are two more heads?
He does grow to be a pretty massive size but that makes him excellent for snuggles. [ She adores that dog. ]
no subject
Hah, I never imagined that such creature would like snuggling. What about belly rubs? [ It shows, Perse. ]
no subject
He loves belly rubs. [ A pause. ] From me anyway. I don't think he'd enjoy them as much from a complete stranger.
no subject
Hah, it don't think anybody can be mad at you so I'm not surprised to heard his. Have you considered about getting yourself a pet?
no subject
[ She turns the camera down to show a small fluffy brown and white puppy lying in her lap sound asleep. ]
This is Pomelia.
no subject
Peter has to cover his mouth to not make a high pitched sound and wake up the dog but he's clearly smiling ]
Ah, she's adorable. What a lil cutie pie. I like the name, she looks like a Pomelia to me.
no subject
[ Even if Hades will insist on calling her Meli. ]
no subject
[ Shhh the old man is wrong, Pomelia is cuter. ]

They're my family, no matter how often they drive each other almost nuts.
no subject
That certainly does sound like family.
