[ She's been sitting on this for a little bit now, unsure how to proceed. Luckily there's this handy dandy thing called the internet that she can ask. Anonymously, no less. Granted she'll probably out herself fairly quickly. ]

Those of you in committed relationships here how do you go about things?

What I mean is the Moons and various happenings in this world have a tendency to cause complications. So how do you deal with those things? What kind of arrangement have you come to?

Okay I'm really hoping it's the former now because I've been here over a year and if the moons effects on us are gradually getting stronger I'm gonna wind up being completely unmanageable during Iris.

[Kind of a terrifying thought, actually.]

Has anything else changed since those first few months? I mean, I assume some stuff has, but just... what sort of stuff, basically?

Well, I've been told the effects can differ from person to person. So maybe I'm just unlucky.

What do you mean?

Fair point... Sorry to hear it if it's just this place being mean to you, though.

I mean like... have you gotten close to people here who you miss when you're hiding away? Seen or experienced things that might be working with the moon's effects to make them stronger or harder to ignore? I'm kinda just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks, here.

Oh, well, I had a crush on someone and kissed them, but that didn't work out. I also almost crystallized around that time. And then the seasons changed...

Some friends from home showed up recently but I was already dealing with stronger urges during Sanguis before that.

Either of those could maybe have had an effect. Maybe you got an urge for more physical contact that you haven't really noticed after kissing that person? Or your subconscious is scared of getting crystallized again?

Not saying that's definitely true. Just maybe. Either way, I see where you'd be concerned.

Was that crush the reason you're asking about committed relationships?

I suppose we'll never know the cause at this point.

No. As I said, that didn't work out. But the opportunity for a relationship with someone else I like has presented itself.

I gotcha. Well, I don't know what sort of person they are... obviously, but the fact of the matter is, if you do ask them to be with you, this is going to be something the two of you have to talk about.

Just... hopefully you can think of a solution that works for both of you. The good news is, it's possible! Me and my boys proved it. So take that for some optimism if nothing else.

I know. I'm just trying to figure out how to approach him about, well, all of this.

I get it. It's hard enough approaching someone on this kind of thing when there aren't magic moons influencing you to do things.

Course, honestly I probably wouldn't have ready to confess on my own if I wasn't kinda pushed into it by this place, so sometimes it can sorta work out.

I've already confessed but at the time it's not like we could do anything about that.

You bring up a good point about the Moons, though. maybe I should wait until neither of us are being influenced.

Oh, well at least that hurdle's cleared.

Definitely. Neither by the moons or by whatever Lunatia throws at us this month.

Which does kinda limit your options, I'll admit.

Yeah, that's a short window of time. But I guess it also gives me a little bit of time to sort everything out on my end and then gives him to do the same if necessary.

That's the spirit, think on the bright side!

And yeah, it's a lot to think about, and talk about, for that matter. But all relationships run into their weird spots. At least in this case you've got a whole bunch of other people dealing with the same weirdness.

I can at least take some comfort in that. And I suppose if I ever had more questions I know where to ask. Haha.

People around here are pretty helpful about this sort of thing.

When they don't make a big joke about it anyway.

I haven't had anyone make a joke about these kinds of things when I've had questions before. I suppose it's just a matter of time, though.

Eh, maybe some of the more obnoxious parts of the city have toned it down a bit. Or maybe even they don't feel like making fun of your kind of questions.

Not that I've run into that sort of thing personally, but I've seen things.

Anyway, doesn't really matter much. I'm glad you got helpful answers!

I'm glad as well, even if all boiled down to "Just talk about it".

Well, sometimes there's really only one piece of advice to give.

Maybe think of it less like suggestions and more like encouragement. You know what the best option is, this is just people telling you it's gonna be okay to go for it.

That's true. How are you supposed to get anywhere or do anything without a little discussion?

Exactly. Especially with something so personal. I know it's scary, but you can do this.

I may not know who you are, but I believe in you.
