[Somehow it all comes down to ole Sougo Okita being a bastard and the offer today is courtesy of Caesar hearing one too many times that his food is shit. Screw you, Sougo. His food's fine and he's going to get validation in the most roundabout way possible. Not that he needs it, but damn.]
We're offering free snacks if you visit the Roman Holiday today. It's a bath house, if you're unaware of it.
[There's a pause while he places a cigarette between his lips and raises the camera to show this fine establishment from the outside. Incredible. ]
That's all. Ciao.
[CHARMING.]

I don't need to put on a show. It's free food. That should be good enough.

I didn't say anything about going that far.
But I'll swing by.
What are you offering? :)
no subject
Savory and sweet.
I'll be here most of the day.
no subject
But I'll swing by on my break for a little company. ;)

See you then.
[He does like her-she's great company to have and it'll help kill some time during these slow hours.]

[ And true to her word, she does show up. There was the suggestion that it was anything goes and she may not in the tone of her text, but she's honestly pretty curious -- less about what's provided than his skills. Cooking is one way to get to know someone, whether they're good or bad or even what they offer.
Obviously it's a bathhouse so things might be a bit different than were it elsewhere, but it couldn't hurt. She's feeling a little peckish, too, so it's a win/win.
She keeps to herself upon arrival, just enjoying the solitude for the moment while she waits for the man of the hour to show his face. If he doesn't within fifteen minutes, she'll send a text his way: "You sure know how to keep a girl waiting, don't you?" ]

[Jill's playful nature is always welcome and the text pulls him from his current task, dragging him from the backroom out towards the reception area. There are a few towels slung over his shoulder, his hands in the midst of folding one as he walks up to greet her.]
The food's to the side-you're welcome to whatever you wish.
[And he tilts his head towards the area-an assortment of little Italian snacks set out-pieces of crostini, taralli, a little pot of meatballs in tomato sauce, and a cookie.
Fuck you Sougo.]

[ It's what she leaves him on initially, but she eyes him with a wry grin. She hadn't meant to interrupt, but he could probably use a break, right? She'll take advantage of that. ]
It looks good. [ She gazes side-long; hungry, but not ravenous. ] So, you made it yourself? Not much of a cook but I can follow recipes. I know more French technique since my father was a baker -- and French.
[ She hovers with him, not just to be polite but because she'd like to. ]

This may be different than what your used to then, but Italian cuisine is second to none.
[Except for beef stroganoff. Somehow his homeland hasn't figured that out quite yet.]
I didn't realize you were French. Are you from there?

It could be in general, knowing the difference between places. My partner, Parker, is Italian and loves to cook, though. [ She comments idly, fondly. ] Non. I'm American. My mother is of Japanese descent, however, so I've a bit of culture clash and odd knowledge thanks to my heritage. I suppose physically I look more like my father's side of the family, though.
[ She has the facial structure of a French woman, where noses like hers tend to be a touch more common overall.
Jill isn't much a fan of stroganoff, anyway. She's careful to go for a meatball first since that's always a sign of a true chef's skill, right? The basic and best-known that can be adapted to different dishes. She's polite about scooping it up and picking at it in a small bite, tongue darting out to appreciate the remnants of sauce on her bottom lip. She pauses, waiting until her mouth is empty to speak. ]
It's fantastic. Thanks for sharing, Caesar. [ She pauses before carrying on. ] So, how is work going for you today?

But Jill's enjoying it and that brings a small, nearly genuine smile to his face. He's never been a humble guy and hearing his work get complimented? He's been waiting for that all night. ]
Grazie, bella. It's going well. It's quiet and I can't say I don't mind the silence.
[But onto more important things-]
I didn't realize you were dating an Italian. Parker, was it?
[She did say partner after all.]
