You know, for all that "it was a dark and stormy night" is a hackneyed cliché, I have to admit that I really can't think of a more apt way of describing the state of affairs outside. There's already water collecting in the streets; I imagine it won't be long before the roads and walkways are covered over. And from the sound of it, this storm is going to get worse before it gets better.
Squalls like this weren't altogether uncommon in the place I consider to be my native land; it was a wild place where raw power governed, so it only seems natural that it would have weather to match. I can't deny that even now, I still find a certain raw beauty in the fury of it all. But all the same, these sorts of storms are not to be trifled with, or taken lightly — and they're far better experienced from beneath the shelter of a sturdy roof and solid walls.
If you're not already prepared to weather a deluge, I would recommend remedying that quickly. There's something that feels oddly vicious about this particular tempest, and I won't be at all surprised if trying to brave it becomes hazardous sooner rather than later.

Well at least you are dry enough to wax poetic, Kurama.
I have cakes.
What was it you needed for that dish, again?
[ He totally didn't come out in the middle of this power-sapping storm to get a bunch of sweets, okay? He didn't. ]

The store?
Don't tell me I need to get them from Amegahara in this shit.

[IT'S TEXT BUT YOU CAN JUST HEAR THE "OH MY GOD..."]
no subject
Well you weren't going to go out in it.

It's rain, Kurama. Not fire balls, though you wish to act like it.
Not that either would stop me, but that's not the point.
What brand do you want for these things? Knowing you it's the priciest.
They have shortcakes.

[y'all sound like you have been married for sixty years]
I'll send you pictures. If you'd rather have fresh strawberries instead of the grocer's to go with your shortcake, I've a plant I can cultivate to accommodate.

Stop fussing.
Is there something like raspberries?
There's also this cake that's very tall and spongey that I'm getting.
Once I get your things I think I should be finished, though...
no subject
And I'm hardly fussing.
no subject
You are.
Large baskets? Or small ones?
There's not a soul here. I should come during floods more often.
no subject
How are you planning to get back, exactly, if it's flooded outside?
no subject
Do I ever travel via road?
Trees, power poles, roof. Whatever is high enough to work.
no subject
I am NOT fussing.
no subject
You just fucking did it.
You’re also treating me like an infant.
I’ll leave your ingredients here if you’re so convinced I’m stupid enough to play with electricity.

See you soon?
I’ll meet you with a towel?
I won’t bitch about the water on the floor as you’ve brought the mirin and aburaage?
I’ll grow the strawberries in the mean time?
I can go on.

If you make me sick I’ll take longer.

That will definitely be needed.
A bit of a time skip here ..
Does this rain feel different to you?
Heavier?
no subject
I've not been out in it. What do you mean, heavier?
Switching to private -
[ he is the darkness, Kurama! He doesn’t need fussing or watching over. Not even when he’s noticing his low spirit energy finally and stopping for a breather in any little cavern he can find.
He does have the sense of mind to switch things to private from here, though. Just in case.
Though what he offers is more cryptic than helpful. ]
It’s stopped evaporating off of me, now.

[But that's...something, isn't it, and when he thinks about it for a minute, it occurs to him to reach and try and sense how close Hiei might be, if he's expending energy like that...
And naturally, he doesn't like what he discovers.]
I can't sense you. Are you hiding yourself?
