You know, for all that "it was a dark and stormy night" is a hackneyed cliché, I have to admit that I really can't think of a more apt way of describing the state of affairs outside. There's already water collecting in the streets; I imagine it won't be long before the roads and walkways are covered over. And from the sound of it, this storm is going to get worse before it gets better.
Squalls like this weren't altogether uncommon in the place I consider to be my native land; it was a wild place where raw power governed, so it only seems natural that it would have weather to match. I can't deny that even now, I still find a certain raw beauty in the fury of it all. But all the same, these sorts of storms are not to be trifled with, or taken lightly — and they're far better experienced from beneath the shelter of a sturdy roof and solid walls.
If you're not already prepared to weather a deluge, I would recommend remedying that quickly. There's something that feels oddly vicious about this particular tempest, and I won't be at all surprised if trying to brave it becomes hazardous sooner rather than later.

Well at least you are dry enough to wax poetic, Kurama.
I have cakes.
What was it you needed for that dish, again?
[ He totally didn't come out in the middle of this power-sapping storm to get a bunch of sweets, okay? He didn't. ]

Yes, and with no telling when it might lessen or abate. We might as well try reading tea leaves, for all that we might hazard a guess.

:)
Yeah. Never know what you'll find if you take a good butcher's at your cup of rosie.
Guessing games aside, it's strange we didn't have any warning for it. Thought the scientists with their tecknology could see something this big coming for us. I've seen people predicting the weather on those big glass panels before.

"By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes". Lunar Scientia made some sort of archaeological discovery to the south recently; perhaps we've robbed the wrong tomb, figuratively speaking.

But yes, if people are reading this, be safe. The course of nature can change in just an instant. If you are able, stay inside, avoid stagnant water, and if you can't...well, I suspect you have far worse problems.

I hope your partner returns to you safely. And dryly, for the sake of your desserts and your floors!

He'll be fine, I'm certain of that. For all that I may seem concerned, I have the utmost confidence in him.
