Once I get the space together, I'm starting a self-defense class.
[ The video starts showing Ash in front of a simple apartment wall. ]
Shouldn't need a lot of explanation. You pay me, I'll teach you how to fight. It doesn't matter how big or small you are, if you're a man or a woman. There'll be handgun lessons, too. Not at the same time; if you can roundhouse while firing a gun, you're not there for the class.
Payment can be chroma or demichroma. If it's chroma, it has to be transferred through our hands. If you know what you're doing and looking for a place to pass that along, I'll take on a few more teachers and a nurse or two. I'll have to see your stuff first.

Been doing it for about a year now. Not a proper business, but my experience and abilities keep me busy.

[ Wow, Jill, way to overachieve. ]
I'm going with more skill-based fighting than workouts. I'll guide them on what muscles they need to strengthen, but there are enough gyms around here that I don't need to add another one, and they can run without me looking over their shoulder.
I'm also only going to show them how to shoot the gun, not make the ammo. Even if you found competition for some of it, sounds like you got enough going not to worry.
If you're willing to sell to a competitor, I wouldn't be against buying some of the ammo if your price is fair. Do you have firearms, too?
no subject
[ That's what happens when you don't have a life, silly! ]
Personally I'm about usability and technique but I'm capable of adapting to what a client may need and it's something I'm good at, so I tend to take on anyone regardless of their goals.
I have a strict personal training regime and diet, so it's not difficult to cater either to someone else.
Ha ha, yeah, I was just joking with competition! I do a lot of side work and all so I welcome others doing the same thing.
I sell to anyone. :)
I have firearms of all types, but unfortunately not enough surplus that I'm willing to sell. But I know a guy. I'll send you the information privately if you're interested.

You sound more like a personal trainer. I'm thinking something in groups. I got all the work out I needed from actually fighting so I'm not looking to get too deep into stuff they can do without me.
[ Ash is definitely disclinipled, but he also can't stay out of trouble so additional exercises haven't been needed for a while now. ]
Yeah, I am interested. I have a guy or two, but it's good to have some different vendors. What's the charge for bullets?
no subject
That's technically what I call myself, but I'm sort of a Jill of All Trades. ;)
I actually work most days at a PI office.
I get plenty of training done while fighting, but that doesn't build muscle the same way weights do and a fight isn't the time to learn new techniques. You want to be at your sharpest when the time comes.
[ Jill can definitely relate to getting herself into trouble. It's sort of her job, after all. ]
Sliding scale.
I know it's not always easy to come by, especially for custom arms or things that don't seem to exist here.
If it's some kinda special bullshit with lasers or whatever I'd need to see the weapon first and figure it out, but I can promise you that I definitely will figure it out. :)

[Especially for a terrorist group who has to rely on the black market or stealing to get their weapons.]
But I've fired crossbows.

I have some guns good for beginners. I'm not going to bother going into too much detail because it probably won't mean a lot to you. I'll get into that after you have some practice under your belt.
You said you fight. What's your style?
no subject
I don't really know if I have a "style", I learned from lots of different people. Mostly basic self-defense and I can use a knife if I need to.

Interested in showing me? If you're good and want to teach, we can work something out for lessons and some kind of demi/chroma.

I'm fine with going a little more and seeing what plays out, but whatever's easiest for you!

[For a split second Nike was reminded of an uncomfortable memory -- the time Nephero called her light. She'll look to the side for a moment before scratching her cheek.]
...the payment doesn't sound too bad. [A beat.] And a refresher wouldn't hurt. Are you good with street fighting or is this all about discipline and formal stuff?
no subject
[ Ash has never been female, which does put her at a disadvantage in terms of strength, but he was actually a small kid and teenager, only shooting up in recent years. It helps him teach from both prospectives. ]
The only difference between formal and street is that formal happens in competitions with rules. The street doesn't care about rules as much. You have to have discipline no matter how you learn. My job is to teach you how to survive in the real world.
But you said 'refresher'. Are you already a fighter?
no subject
That's true. Timing is always important.
[Hence the reason she has been able to defeat four palace guards on her own, fighting a fleet of men attempting to overpower her and kick behind the head of a pair of thieves.]
I wouldn't call myself a pro or anything! I had to learn to fight to be heard as a kid. To help keep the small bit of pride I had left not get utterly destroyed. [A small smile.] The sailors back in my island nation. They were grown men, but they taught me more than enough. Thanks to them I was able to beat up four palace guards without the use of my powers!
[It was still a proud moment for her even if she did get defeated by the remaining two guards in the group of six. But all in all, she'll look down.]
...I lost a lot of weight after that time. There was a moment I really needed to protect myself, I couldn't. I was too light to do anything. [And she was too afraid to use her wind abilities to anything worse than giving them a light cut. To do worse -- like cutting off a body part with her magic -- she couldn't do, even if it meant losing everything. Biting her bottom lip.] ...I don't want anything like that to happen again. I want to learn to put people in their place even in my current form. I don't know how long it'll take to get back to my actual weight, so. Could you teach me to survive?
no subject
In some ways, the situation isn't so entirely different from something Ash has experienced. He's been down to a very bad weight and still had to fight. Admittedly, his method was 'push through it, bad things will happen if you don't' and that's not something you can teach. Condition maybe, but that's a harsh training and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, it's not enough.
Ash makes several notes, including powers. She has abilities but didn't want to use them. ]
I'll teach you techniques. They're based on knowing where to strike. But the healthier you are, the better it's going to be. Being too underweight doesn't fall into healthy.
[ Giving her anything aside from a frank answer would be unfair. ]
Where do you fall? How much weight do you want to gain back?
no subject
There will be some awkwardness at his next questions.]
Well...that's.... [WHY DO YOU ASK THIS QUESTION!?] Um, man, and here I thought guys knew the rules about stuff like that... [Never ask for a woman's weight or age unless absolutely needed.
But...she figures, he may not be her fashion stylist, but he is her personal trainer of sorts now and....he does fit the "as pretty as a model" theme so...she'll just type it to him in a failed attempt of a private message.]
44 kilos in less than a year.
no subject
Was that a typo?
[ Despite his own insistence that she doesn't need to go to text, he'll follow suit. If Nike wants it to be a secret, it's not Ash's to tell. ]
44 kilos. As in kilograms. As in, 1 of them makes about 2.2 pounds?
[ Is she saying she lost almost a hundred pounds in a year? ]

It's a good idea no matter where you are. Do you have any experience in it?

Yeah, you probably should learn some stuff. Not all fans are good fans.
no subject
[So, uh, fans are definitely a thing.]
Well, count me as a potential student of yours, then.

[ Ash is American and there, while it does have meaning, it's not a profession. ]
Good job on the popularity.
[ Whatever it is, it's safe to assume there's still fans. ]
