Hello, this is Dr. Daniel Dickens from the Second Nature Clinic. For those who are new here, I work as a therapist there, so if there is anyone in need of treatment and have been unable to find what you're looking for at the hospital, you're welcome to find me there and I'll see what I can do to help.

However, I didn't come here just to make an advertisement: there's something I haven't had happen before during one of these cycles, despite being here for... almost a year, apparently.

[Shy of two months, wow. Time flies.]

So I had some questions for people who have experienced this particular sort of trait for the Iris cycle, regarding... well. The one that involves having tentacles like an octopus.

... And before anyone says anything, no, it didn't replace you-know-what like I've seen some people mention on here before. They're somewhere entirely different, and currently preventing me from doing so much as taking a drink without it ending up on my person...or being able to speak at all, actually.

So maybe it's not questions I need answered so much as advice on how to deal with them. And hopefully not suffocate to death at some point before the cycle is over either.

That's rather unfortunate, Doctor, but I'm an Iris myself and I've never experienced any traits of that nature.

Oh, really? That's... probably a good thing for you, given how inconvenient I'm personally finding them, but also unfortunate in the advice department I suppose.

[He'd ask what traits Lucas normally gets instead, but sometimes people prefer to keep that information as private as much as possible. He would have done the same if they hadn't gotten annoying enough that he bit the bullet and asked.]

Wait, what WAS Luca gonna ask about... It had to do with Iris, which involves physical transformation and weird compulsions and-- OH. Right. That. ]

It's a bit awkward to admit, but I've noticed my peers seem to suffer through profound urges during Iris. The only time I've felt that way was during the week after the robot squid invasion, when the ancient scientist woman enhanced everyone's chroma producing capabilities.

Is this normal, or should I be seeing a medical professional about it?

The moon cycles affect people differently, it's not always consistent when it comes to how strong those urges are. I've had cycles where I still felt about the same as ever while sporting an odd look, while others...

[... Yeah, there have been others where you're just horny on main regardless of how your appearance has changed.]

Don't worry, I promise that there's nothing wrong with having cycles that don't involve feeling so high-strung, so to speak.

[In fact that feels like a source of jealousy that there are people who don't feel horny on main every cycle?? Or at least it would be if Danny himself wasn't too annoyed by face tentacles to feel anything other than annoyed at the current situation.]

[ You are definitely not the only person who has been jealous of Luca's distinct lack of horny... Not that Luca would realize that through texting alone. ]

Guess not. And how common is the tentacle trait, anyhow?

It's not as common as some traits like say... rabbit or deer-like qualities. Those are the ones I usually hear about or see more often than tentacles.

So tentacles are a rare trait? Noted.

Indeed. I only really know two people now that get them frequently rather than once in a rare instance.

Is there any other cause for the change other than the typical moon cycle?

[doctorize]

I don't believe so. I've only ever seen that change occur in people during the Iris moon cycle.

I understand it's an Iris change, but I was wondering if there was a trigger on top of that.

Oh, sorry. No, I haven't really discovered a particular trigger that causes it. I'm clueless why one person gets it during Iris and another person doesn't.

I see. Do you know of anyone who's looking into the matter?

Lunar Scientia, perhaps? They seem like the types who would have looked into it, but I wouldn't actually know for sure.
