I want to know more about the worlds that everyone left behind.

Like what countries there are, what they look like, what's different from here. It's such a waste of opportunity not to learn about other worlds, you know? As long as I'm going to be stuck here, I'd like to stretch my imagination and learn something new.

I, for one, just came from Japan. Yokohama City, to be exact. I wouldn't be surprised if more of you are from Yokohama... Oh~ But imagine if we're all from alternate Yokohama Cities. That would be interesting as well.

Your maps have planets? We don't have that sort of thing on Earth. The most we have of space is a guide of the solar system. Anything more is nerd stuff.

What's your home planet called?

Uh... yeah. Since many of us make a habit of traveling across different star systems on a near daily basis, having maps without planets would be kind of useless. Our maps have the plants, outposts, known space stations, worm holes, known travel lanes, and a whole bunch of other things.

Andaria. I spent a decent amount of time on a few other planets growing up too. Don't live on any of them now.

Wait, you do space travel? Like it's normal?

Where I'm from, we get excited for just shooting a rocket into orbit. But going to different planets? That's unheard of.

[Her imagination is spinning with sci-fi stories. He's like a storybook character to her.]

I don't even know how to start asking questions. Are aliens real? What do they look like?

It is normal. I run my own ship and crew to transport goods through multiple systems.

You're the second person to use that word. If by aliens you mean a species that lives on a different planet from yours, then it's not a term we use. There are a lot of different species in the United Systems.

Oh, that makes sense. Alien really only works if you believe there's only one planet, huh?

I thought you were a vampire, but I guess I'm wrong. My bad. I've honestly never met non-humans before coming here. It's been so interesting to realize how pathetic humans are in the grand scheme of things.

No more or less pathetic than any other race. They're just as capable of brutality even if they don't have the physical strength or mental abilities other races have.
