I want to know more about the worlds that everyone left behind.

Like what countries there are, what they look like, what's different from here. It's such a waste of opportunity not to learn about other worlds, you know? As long as I'm going to be stuck here, I'd like to stretch my imagination and learn something new.

I, for one, just came from Japan. Yokohama City, to be exact. I wouldn't be surprised if more of you are from Yokohama... Oh~ But imagine if we're all from alternate Yokohama Cities. That would be interesting as well.

He’s just a dumbass who doesn’t know how to use technology enough to change his username because he picked it before he decided to erase his identity and lie about half his life to everyone here. so “I picked that username cuz it sounds cool” is the best he’s got now. Which is not very cool, admittedly. womp-womp. ]

the stupid Chroma shit obviously is most different. otherwise the technology and city... its really like an alien planet to me more than a lot of people I’ve met. like my friends from japan all seem to more or less know what theyre doing with stuff. but I’m lost. it’s all new technology to me. This world is way more advanced than mine. And built up.

where I’m from, the natural world is important and respected, the elements are like the cornerstone of all our world’s cultures... here... there’s only real nature if you go looking for it. even in big cities where I’m from, there’s nothing as massive and lavish as all this. there’s just so much of so much here.

Hm. I'll admit, I do have an advantage in that the technology here is at least a realistic leap from back home.

Do you even have electricity? What you mean that the elements are important? Which ones?

no electricity and I’m really curious about that because it sounds like it’s powered by lightning — which is like fire. sort of. where I’m from it’s like that.

there are four elements. earth, air, water and fire. each have respective cultures built around them. for example I’m from the Fire Nation, which is why I’m so interested in the lightning
but I also lived in the Earth Kingdom for a while
etc

You're right that electricity is like lightning. The story goes that some guy got his kite electrocuted and was like "That was neat. Let's do this more!"

And made lightbulbs.

But it powers a lot of stuff. I wonder if you lightning-fire stuff could power a light bulb too?

I'm sure it could but in my world, lightning is very advanced firebending. most people can't even use it to fight, let alone harness it for a little lamp or something. we're just not there yet, maybe. that's what this world and what i've heard from the people in it have made me wonder about. like maybe electricity is the future of firebending in my world. it'd be cool. but as it is right now, if the fire nation had that kind of technology and lightning-power, it wouldn't be used well... the world is better off for now without it.

the fire nation is where i grew up, it will always be my country and my home. but not long ago i moved to the earth kingdom with my uncle who owns a teashop in a big city there.
