Good afternoon, everyone. Hopefully everyone slept well last night?

[ ... Okay, he knows that's a very awkward way to start a network post, but he does need advice and it might become more personal than he'd care to admit, so how does he...? ]

I'm doing fine myself, but I can't stop thinking of some of those painful nightmares I had last week. This is strange, considering I don't usually recall what I dream about... And I think my dreams had to do with my father?

Did anyone else dream of personal things of that sort? Is there a dream interpreter I should speak to?

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not a dream interpreter or anything like that but I guess you could call my dreams "personal" too.

Yes. It was someone from my past.

[There's a pause before he adds:]

The person I've known the longest.

You're very lucky to still remember them.
I will admit, my own memory hasn't been too good these days. Rather unfortunate, really, especially since I haven't really thought of my father for a bit too long...

So I can't explain to myself why my feelings about this man are mixed.

Feelings about other people are usually complicated. At least in my experience.

[Granted his experience is fairly limited and he recognizes that.]

That creature that manipulated our dreams was intentionally trying to cause suffering. I think it probably preyed on whatever it could to try and cause you uncertainty.

It must have dug pretty deep, in my case. I don't know if I should be concerned or impressed.

That seems to be the case with a lot of what happens here, I think. It can be both concerning and impressive.
