Does anyone know where I could find pants that would fit over a tail? Specifically one that I can't just slide through a hole.

[He pauses, and there's the sound of feathers rustling.]

Some advice on modifying existing clothing to fit would be nice too. And, as a lower priority...shirts I can wear with wings.



(OOC: Ren Amamiya is going to be bringing him something he can wear, but general advice is still welcome. He'll turn down offers to bring him clothing directly from anyone he doesn't know and who isn't about the same size as him.)

I think Chromawear could conform to what you need? Maybe? I don't totally get how it works but it seems to be advertised as transforming regular clothing.

My Chroma supply hasn't been particularly steady, so I've been avoiding anything that actively consumes it.

I understand. I guess if you can endure the backless idea then until you can have some clothes altered that might be the best solution for the moment. I haven't had to deal with this myself just yet though.

Backless is fine, though I think I'd need something that ties in the back. I'd have a rough time pulling anything up over my tail.

They got clothing 'round here fitted for that sorta thing. Wings, tails, all that. I ain't dealt with either, but I reckon it's handy when you don't wanna tear up your old clothes.

I don't think I could easily modify my old clothes for these, anyway. My tail is like some sort of cross between a cat's and a bird's, so I'd need something with some sort of closure over the tail.

I don't suppose you know where I'd be able to find a store with a decent selection of clothes designed around extra limbs?

Sure, lotsa places. They're used to folks with extra parts 'round here. Even... cat-bird tails, though I'm havin' trouble imaginin' that.

Guess for starters... you been to that little diner on Level 2, near the Prismanodes? 'Bout two stores down from there's a little thrift stores. They usually got all kinds.

Like I said, though. If you don't find anything that suits your fancy there, there's a lot of shops.

I know where you're talking about, and used clothes won't be a problem, as long as they look decent. I guess from there, I can talk to store clerks about how they organize their more specialized stock.

[It's definitely a good fallback if he can't get something to wear out tonight. He wouldn't want to spend a lot on clothes that might not be comfortable fits for his wings and tail.]

With all the Prismals with animal parts around here, I'd imagine there must be regular clothing adapted for tails and things like that too?

Not much lower than if I was just wearing swim shorts, and my feathers would make sure nothing inappropriate is visible.

I admit, when I've been clothes shopping before, I wasn't exactly looking for anything that wasn't cut for a human body shape. I wonder what sort of clothing adaptations they've come up with...

So, you're going to want to cut a slit at the back of the pants, in the middle where your tail is. Then sew a button and a hook.

Kind of like this. This will let you adjust for the room that you need, if you can't just slide the tail through.

That's a good question. You've got wings, you said? And a tail too? I've seen Prismals with all kinds of ears and tails since I got here. I guess it's the same with Moonblessed so you'd think there would have to be a wide range of adaptable clothing.

So... cat tail, but a couple'a feathers. [Engineer's quiet for a moment, then sputters out a quiet, incredulous laugh.] Welp. I was a fish man the last few days, so I ain't got room to judge.

My "traits" are usually more... snake-like, though, so I ain't paid attention to how each store does what. But knowin' the demand here... I'm guessin' it won't be hard.

As odd as it might seem to us, there are a large number of unique citizens to this place, so it's not so strange to find that clothing stores offer tailoring services frequently. I believe some stores offer a service where you're sized for your specific needs and given a quote, though they may not be as budget-friendly.

Ah, but with how easy it is to create chroma for us moonblessed, it shouldn't be an issue, should it? What sort of tail do you have, if you don't mind me asking?

I didn't arrive with any close friends, so Chroma generation has actually been a little touch and go for me. But I still have some Demichroma left over from the casino, so I can probably afford at least basic tailoring.

[Or he could ask...no, no. He's not going to count on a guy who still resents him for hurting his friends being at all interested in helping him with Chroma production.]

I have something that's sort of like a cross between a cat's tail and a bird's tail. It has the general shape of a cat's tail, but there are feathers running down the length of it on either side.

Is that so? I see... That's right. The culture here is quite different from normal, for most of us. If I hadn't arrived to a place even worse than this prior to coming here, I might be in a similar situation as you.

What an interesting sounding tail. ♪ I'm a little envious, since mine is always something like a small rabbit's tail, not elegant at all. Let's see, you'd have to be gentle with the feathers, so I see why a hole wouldn't quite work... Something like buttons or a slit may be preferred.

If you'd like, I can always introduce you to one of the shop owners I work closely with. Since I've been growing a little in the public eye, he's eager to help me with small things like this without issue.

It is...I'm from a culture where even family members rarely touch one another. Any sort of frequent contact would be reserved for lovers, and...well, I'm not exactly in a romantic relationship, either.

I'd be incredibly grateful if you could help me get minor alterations done cheaply, though. I only arrived a week before that last mission, so I don't have many connections yet. For the same reason, though, I'm not sure how I could repay you.
