[ Cue the video feed, which begins with a way-too-close-up of Prompto's face. What can be seen of his face, which is mostly just his eyes and freckled nose, looks excited as hell. This is sort of an impromptu broadcast, but he can't not share this. This is a big, big moment for him.

Everything is about to freakin' change. ]

Heyaz! It's ya boy, Prompto. [ ......... ] Uh, so, y'know that special magic chalk you can get from the Ware Wolf guy? Oh, shit, is that supposed to be on the DL? A-anyway. I got some of that biz, aaaaand now — well, I'll just let it speak for itself.

[ The video then turns away from Prompto's face and to a chalk drawing on the ground: a near-complete rendering of a chocobo inside of circle. That's it. It's literally just a poorly-drawn chocobo inside of a circle, with a bit of its tail missing. It'd been near completion when he decided to share this monumental moment with everyone he possibly could, and he still holds a piece of the chalk in his hand, ready to finish off the last of the drawing. Let's all beseech the summoning gods to not bring forth a chocobo as disfigured as the one that Prompto drew, but its shape is at least recognizable to those who are familiar with the species. ]

Bam. Check it! If this actually works, I'm gonna be the proud papa of a brand new chocobo! One that's alllll my own! But I'll let you guys ride it, if you ask nicely.

[ Anyway, enough chit-chat, it's time for action!!! As he squats down near the drawing again, the feed catches him drawing the last bit of the chocobo's tail. For a moment that stretches into eons, nothing happens, but then —

There's a flash of light that temporarily blocks out anything from come through on the video, but as it begins to fade, there is the distinct, unmistakable sound of a kweh.

In the center of the crudely-drawn-but-apparently-effective summoning circle stands a majestic, bright yellow chocobo. ]

Holyyyyyyy shit! It actually — a-are you guys seeing this? It actually worked! Holy shit, he — she?? She's beautiful, have you ever seen a more fluffy, sweet, perfect animal in the whole wide multiverse?! C'mere — wait, what am I gonna name it? I gotta name it —

[ ...The chocobo turns and starts to trot away. Bye! ]

— aaaand it's leaving. Okay, uhhhh, leave me some name suggestions, look forward to my 24-hour livestream of chocobo life coming at'chu soon! Crap—

[ And the video feed cuts off as he breaks into a run to catch his wayward son or daughter. ]

[ Maybe he shouldn't have brought it up, but Prompto is making an active attempt to get better at his whole "not-talking-about-stuff-that's-bothering-him" shtick. Time to make good on that.

but idk we've gotten into little arguments before but this is different
things got kind of weird after she got back from her world this last time

[ What Noctis is getting from that is that it really isn't Prompto's fault. Or Alisaie's either. What a tough situation to be in. Texting is a good first step to talking about things though, right? It's always felt easier for Noctis, so that's why he figures they're having this conversation at all. He's never really been good at talking about his feelings, either. ]

[ Or did she lie and say she lost consciousness and couldn't remember? He can't really blame Ignis for that, especially considering how he was acting at the time. And considering he kept the truth from Ignis here, too. But it still stings. He wouldn't be surprised if Alisaie was like that. She's kind of fit into their group from the start, hiding her feelings under jokes and defensiveness. Fights are kind of inevitable, acting like that. ]

[ Alisaie...did tell him what, but he has the sinking suspicion that she didn't tell him all of the what. Sure, anyone would struggle to adjust back to life here when they're used to something much harsher, but...there's more to it than that. He knows her too well to believe otherwise. ]

[ "Kind of waiting" is Prompto's MO for sure. And Noctis can't say it's a bad one. It's his method of choice, too. Not talking about things. Waiting for them to come out on their own, or for someone more mature to bring it up.

Who knows how much time they have in a place like this, though? It's hard to talk about things, but here more than ever, it eats at Noctis, the things he doesn't talk about. What if he never gets to say them? Would that be better or worse? For something like what Alisaie's probably going through... ]

[ That's unfair. It wasn't a decade for Prompto to talk about the MT thing. It was five years, if you didn't count the meeting-but-not-meeting thing as kids. ]

[ Wow, called out, dude!! But Noct's not wrong. Prompto isn't exactly a shining example of opening up about the things he really needs to, but that's just it — he can recognize it now, and wants to do better. That means encouraging others, Alisaie included, to do better as well.

He was so scared about telling Noct and the others the truth...but in the end, he had nothing to be afraid of. ]
